How can someone tell if their Garage is suitable for conversion?
I would say that every garage is suitable for a Conversion. Although I would say depending where the garage is and what work is required you may or may not need planning permission, You will always require building regulations to certify the works.
Run us through the different stages of the Garage conversion process - what's involved?
On a typical garage conversion you would expect;
- To create either a lintel where the garage door is or a concrete footing to support the wall built above.
- Raise the floor with DPM, pir insulation and an interlocking flooring grade board which is glued underneath and on the joints.
- build stud walls around the perimeter of the garage using a vapour barrier on the rear of the studwork
- install pir insulation within the studwork,
- install pir insulation in the ceiling.
- plasterboard everywhere
- plastering
- painting and decorating
- flooring
- skirting and architrave
- Final sign off from building control.

We started this business on the 27th of December 2022, so we are a fairly new business although myself and Danny have known eachother for over 10 years. In those years we have worked alongside eachother multiple times.

Recently we went back to a porch extension job completed a year ago, and it was really nice seeing what we created so long ago and it still looking as great as it did when we created it.
