Q&As

I love seeing my clients grow and move on to happier lives, I feel honoured to be able to share their journey and I enjoy getting such positive feedback from my clients

Why I became a counsellor
Before I became a counsellor, I spent many years working in the care sector, this included working within palliative care, secure mental health units, elderly care, education learning disabilities etc. Through gaining this experience it became apparent how those who were struggling with everyday life really needed someone to listen to them in a safe non-judgmental empathetic environment which made me look at a career in counselling. I have also been through various experiences in my own life that I feel has made me want to turn these experiences in to positive ones by assisting those that are going through challenging times
I enjoy counselling so much so I chose to set up my own business which I thoroughly enjoy.

Feedback I have had from my clients is that I am warm, empathic and pass no judgment. They feel they can open up fully to me and by having counselling it has made them feel empowered and more in control of their life

My services are all online or by telephone, by doing this it allows me to be able to see clients all over the UK.

I now work online for the safety of clients and myself

Services

Hello and a warm welcome to my page,

My name is Clare-Marie, I understand how daunting it may be to reach out for counselling so I really hope I can put you at ease.

Life can sometimes be difficult to cope with so counselling can be an invaluable support.

As an experienced counsellor I aim to support you in finding a way through, and making some sense of, whatever situation you are struggling with.

Within the counselling session I offer you a safe place to talk, explore and open up about what issues are affecting you in life.

I use a combination of 'Cognitive Behavioural Therapy’, 'Person Centred therapy' and ‘Life Coaching’ but more importantly I go with what feels right for the client. My approach is warm, empathic and I pass no judgement.

I have an up-to-date DBS Certificate and I am fully insured.

Organisations I belong to:
• Accredited Member of The International Society of Psychotherapy & Counselling

As well as my counselling qualifications I have also qualified as a ‘Life Coach’. I feel in having my ‘Life Coaching’ qualification I am able to offer my clients extra support and empowerment in moving forward.

Clients I work with
I work with clients from the age of 11 years and upwards
In addition to this, I also offer couples counselling to those that may be undergoing problems within their relationship as well as couples who wish to look at ways in ending their relationship more amicably which is extremely helpful if there are children involved.

Individual Counselling
Some client's issues are personal to them and affecting the individual in moving on and leading a happier life. This could be for a variety of reasons such as life changes, family issues, depression, anxiety, anger issues, self-esteem or OCD etc. We will explore your issues together; every client is different so I will work in a way that is centred round your uniqueness.

Couples Counselling
Some couples can reach a stage in their relationship where issues begin to arise, this may be for a variety of reasons such as Communication Problems, Intimacy Issues, Trust difficulties, Concerns round step/blended families etc.
By talking through these concerns with someone that will remain non-judgmental and impartial, it can support you in ways of how to deal with the dilemmas experienced and so hopefully help the relationship move on.

Employee Assistance Programme
I have experience of working with companies that signpost their employees to me for counselling through the work place

I am happy to offer sessions by video chat, or by telephone.
