Christine has been a great therapist. I have never done therapy before and she is so understanding made me feel safe to talk about any issues I have. Having not had therapy before I was unsure where to start or who to choose. After speaking to Christine for the initial phonecall, I instantly felt a slight relief in my anxiety knowing that she was able to help work thing’s through with me.
The sessions were in a lovely calming and private environment somewhere that felt a safe space to talk.
Christine was always kind, professional, compassionate and and empathetic and I have learnt so much from these sessions to help me manage my anxiety and OCD intrusive thoughts. I chose Christine because I liked her approach to counselling and CBT. From our first initial conversation, her soft and understanding approach was different to any other therapist I’d seen before, she reassured me that there would be a time when I would feel much better than I did that day. 9 months later and almost weekly meetings I can see and feel the transformational change within me. I had been struggling with anxiety/low self asteem for a few years and I started working with Christine last year and had around 10+ sessions with her. After a bad experience with another counseller I really felt Christine listened to the issues I had and genuinley wanted to help me work through them by simple questioning and was always there ready to give me a confidence boost. With each session, I felt a bit lighter in myself and she gave me tools to start working on myself which were easy to fit into my daily routines. I instantly felt at ease with Christine. She is a warm, kind and very professional lady. Christine offered me 6 sessions of therapy via Zoom to help me overcome some anxious feelings and low self-esteem. She really helped me focus on what I saw as my lack of direction in life and to put things into perspective. Chris made me feel at ease right from the start. She’s warm and empathetic. Our therapy sessions helped me understand the link between my feelings thoughts and behaviour and Chris helped me to understand how small changes can have a big impact on my mental health. I’ve made huge progress in just 2 months which has had a knock on effect in my relationships at home and work. My experience with Chris was excellent – in under 10 sessions we got to the core of my issues and worked through them. I have always deemed myself an anxious person and so I assumed it was normal that as a consequence I was a bad sleeper, a chronic worrier and had negative thoughts about myself. Chris quickly helped me realise that this wasn’t the case and I didn’t have to continue down this path if I didn’t want to. We employed a mix of strategies including CBT and looking into my past to better understand my anxiety and how to manage it. It was very easy to talk to Chris and so I was able to share some deeply personal experiences which ultimately helped me face some demons causing my anxiety. I now understand the causes of my anxiety and have good mechanisms in place to manage my worries and negative thinking, and sleep very well at night! I couldn’t recommend Chris more highly. More...

I was apprehensive about councilling. I also hoped I'd be 'cured' in 5 sessions. Chris sensitively explained it doesn't really work like that and I could do as many as I needed, or felt happy with, as I could always add more. Turns out I wanted more as I felt very comfortable talking to her about awkward things. After an unexpected event in my twenties, I discovered the benefits of talking to a professional, and went on to qualify as a counsellor. I know how important it is to feel understood , without judgement when we are feeling vulnerable. Being able to provide a professional, safe space to talk and help people understand their problems, so that they can find a way to move forward comfortably at their own pace and in their own unique way is very important to me.

Before the pandemic, I had been working face to face in a counselling room with all of my clients. The pandemic changed this. Moving to online and telephone counselling was the only way to keep connected with my clients. I have since had experience working with an agency that sent me clients from all over the UK, and realized that post pandemic clients are keen to continue to connect online for ease of access, convenience and comfort.

Offering Remote counselling, and having a clear procedure in my counselling rooms in Christchurch. We have toilet and hand wash facilities. and the hand sanitizer is prominently placed at the entrance of the building. We also have a track and trace QR card to scan. The counselling rooms are well ventilated and the surfaces are cleaned between clients. The waiting room is also well ventilated.

I combine therapeutic counselling with elements of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), depending on your individual wants and needs.
CBT is a type of counselling that can help you manage your problems by changing the way you think and behave. It's commonly used with anxiety and depression.
ACT is a type of mindful therapy that helps you stay focused on the present moment and accept thoughts and feelings without judgement. It’s been helpful for people suffering from anxiety, stress and depression.
By talking therapeutically, in confidence without any judgement we will work to try and find a way that feels right for you to move forward.
