What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
I believe for a photograph to be a great photograph, it needs to create an emotional reaction in the viewer. It doesn't matter if it's a photo of a couple getting married, an image of a juicy cheeseburger or an empty house. Obviously, each one of those images would invoke a different reaction, but that's the magic of photography. I love the challenge of working out how to invoke the desired reaction with the images I create.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
When starting a new project I like to know exactly what the client is looking for. I'll ask what the images are for and what they're hoping to achieve with the images. It's important for me to understand what the end goal is. I also need to know what style they like, but it's also important to what they don't like too. So I'll always have an informal, but in-depth chat with them to make sure I've got a clear idea of what's required.
What do you love most about your job?
Wedding photography has taught me that I love photographing people and capturing their personality & character in the images I create. Commercial photography has taught me that I love working with a large variety of brands and solving problems creatively.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I was inspired to start my own business when my wife fell pregnant with our first child. I wanted the freedom to be able to work my own hours, choose the projects that most inspired me and still be able to spend time with my family. Both my wife and I are self-employed so we both get to spend time with our kids on our own and together as a family.

I believe that my clients enjoy working with me, not just because I deliver consistent results, but also because I'm honest, easy to work with, offer great customer service and genuinely care about doing the very best job that I can - no matter what the project is.
