I really can’t say enough good things about this company.George and his team were lovely to work with from start to finish. They explained every detail of the process and were very responsive to the questions I had along the way. Their attention to detail was outstanding and they really worked hard to make this a good experience for me.
It was also clear that the trades and suppliers he worked with had good relationships with them and we observed first-hand how important that is in making the process go smoothly. We would not hesitate, at all to contact CGL Refurbishments for future projects like a second clinic.

Q&As

Depending on the area that you live in and the council that you are part of , usually a big percentage of garages can be converted but i is always best to check with you local council as they update the requirements frequently

As you start the first thing to do is to assess what you want the garage to be transformed in ( bedroom, office , bedroom with en-suite , kitchen etc.
Every council website they have a pre approval section where you can check if it can be done
At that point an architect can be useful as you need some palms to send them to your local council and if no planning permission is needed , find your building company, once you agree on a price the building control can be booked to check that everything is done properly. I tried my best to keep it simple and without any fancy words :))

As a general rule, 2.2m from floor to ceiling at its highest point is the threshold for undertaking a loft conversion. If your loft does not meet this requirement, it's highly unlikely you'll be able to raise your pitch roof, since councils very rarely grant permission to do that.
Obviously there are more criteria so best thing to do is to have plans done by a structural engineer and architect and also check with your local council planning department

A Typical Loft Conversion Schedule

This are all the steps involved in starting and finishing a loft conversion

I've been in business for 10 years now starting back in 2013 with my dad and ending now in 2023 having anywhere from 4 - 10 tradespeople working with me all skilled workers

We have public liability insurance and indemnity insurance in place for all the work we carry, and everything that we do is guaranteed by us for a certain period
For smaller jobs we offer 6 months labour and parts and for bigger projects it can vary from 1 -2 years ( loft conversion, extension, new build)

This is a good question
The best thing about this job is taking something that is old, damaged outdated or in some cases no one has a solution for and transforming that in what the customer dreamed of having and succeeding customers expectations

My dad inspired me to continue what he had done for 54 years in his way but with the age difference and the demand on the market for new and fresh ideas made it very attractive to me to take this journey

This is tricky , but not in a bad way .
I can write reasons for why someone should chose us until tomorrow morning.
I take pride in what I do and everything is done to a high standard and without cutting any corners
Is easy to cut corners when you are busy and when a lot of people are looking for you to do their projects and we do refuse work if we don’t have the capacity in finishing in a reasonable amount of time
Nice detailed work takes time and once we sit down and discuss options you will decide for yourself!

We can give free advice to anyone that has an enquiry but unfortunately the nature of what we do cannot be done remotely
Maybe in 100 years, who knows:))

All of us had been vaccinated in the period of the pandemic and we followed all the rules that the government put in place
Face mask and face shield are still worn in situations where the customer has a concern
Now none of the obligations are in place but we still respect the customer’s wishes when it comes to wearing a face mask etc.

A kitchen refurbishment can be an important part of your home renovation project.
Remodelling your kitchen, even if it costs you more money, can provide you with a chance to start fresh and invest in high-quality appliances and other fixtures.

Initially, kitchens were just rooms with a sink, but now they are highly-designed rooms that are used for preparing food and hosting guests. To create a comfortable space you need good lighting, ventilation and space for activity. Then you need to consider how to use the kitchen. If you are a small family, then a large-sized kitchen with a larger dining table is not necessary. On the other hand, if you need to accommodate many people and many activities at once, then bigger is better.
Next, think about the natural light and airflow inside your kitchen. You need to enjoy working in your kitchen overall. If the kitchen gets little light overall, you will want to think about how to bring more natural light inside this space through new windows or skylights.

A loft conversion is a quick and easy solution to creating more space when needed without impacting on your existing grounds. The space can be divided up and used as a multifunctional area, or you may just wish to create a specific room.

It can be a lot less hassle and a lot cheaper to have your loft converted than moving house. Plus it is a great reason to have a good de-clutter and you may even find some hidden treasures in that loft space after all.

A garage conversion is often seen as a great way to extend the indoor square footage of a property, without having to go through the hassle and rigmarole associated with a traditional extension to a building.

However, whilst you may be excited at the prospect of turning your garage into a new and viable space for the inside of your property, it can always help to have the bare facts laid in front of you regarding what you can expect in terms of planning, the build itself, and what you might be able to expect from the finished room.

Why move when you can improve? With a home extension, you can get the space you need, while also being able to stay in the area you love. What’s more, with the right home extension, designed by the right architect, you not only get to enjoy the day to day benefits, but you may also find the value of your property benefiting too.

So, how do you go about creating a home extension?

In this ultimate guide for homeowners, we’ll be helping you explore your options. This will not only include showing you what home extension options you have, but diving deep into the ins and outs of getting your project on site. From planning to building regulations, budgeting to finance, we’ll be leaving no stone left unturned in this comprehensive guide.
