What makes a great website?
A great website is designed well in terms of function and accessibility with the user experience in mind, whilst aesthetically it is on brand, engaging and visually communicates why you are unique - your client and their needs must be front of mind when the website is designed.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
Who is your ideal client? What problem does your business solve for your client? Describe an example client - their age, favourite brands, job, lifestyle, hobbies and favourite TV shows etc. What 3 words would you use to describe your business and the experience customers can expect when coming to you (as this will inform the visual look and feel we design)?
Why should our clients choose you?
I love what I do and clients who work with me tell me that they find my process and what I deliver as joyful an experience as I tend to have when creating it. My love of design is infectious, and my clarity over what you need your design to achieve makes me an unusual combination of highly creative yet highly scientific.

I often work on illustration and graphic design work without ever meeting in real life. Through Zoom meetings and emails including photographs and screenshots, clients and I work together to achieve exactly what they need.
Illustration
Bespoke, hand drawn illustrations created via apple pencil and Procreate for the magic touch for a particular campaign, project or occasion when you need that ‘wow’ factor.
Boy Oh Boy has become sought after for producing hundreds of quality, hand-drawn illustrations over the last few years. Work has included commercial clients as well as individuals wanting to give a personalised gift for weddings, birthdays and special occasions.
Animation
The only thing we like more than an illustration, is an illustration that moves! That’s why we also offer a service bringing illustration work to life through animated GIPHs or short MP4 files that you can use online or on social media.
With Instagram surfacing more videos than still imagery and short, animated explainer videos being a brilliant way of maximising your impact for any social media campaign, we can work with you to create the perfect short clip.
Branding - logos, graphic design rollout etc
We know first-hand the importance of feeling that special connection to the way your work and messages are conveyed. You may have plenty of competition, but there is only one you. We have the expertise to help you to identify and visually communicate precisely what makes you special to attract and engage your target audience.
If you make an enquiry about either a brand refresh or else creating a completely new visual identity from scratch, we give a free 30 minute consultation where we talk you through our tried, tested (and enjoyable!) process. By working together, we will be partner up to create your brand concept and visual identity with key milestones for your input at the start, middle and end of the design process.
We have 15 years of varied PR and marketing management experience, qualifications from both the Chartered Institute of Marketing and Shillington College of Graphic Design. So you can rest assured that if you work with Boy Oh Boy, not only will you have fun and be a key collaborator in the design process, but all design choices will be rooted in market research, understanding your target audience, and first hand experience of the ways in which you will use your brand for all aspects of your marketing.
