Very friendly and inclusive group. Something that I can actually participate in with my young son (all his other classes are kids only). Have had lots of enjoyment from LED sabre training thanks to John, Craig, Ethan and the others. Haven't been able to go since lockdown but looking forward to resuming asap. More...

My son went to his first Battle Blades workshop and loved it. Knowledgeable, friendly coaches made him feel welcome and included.

You learn actual sword fighting techniques using both HEMA practice swords and low-impact LED sabres. Sessions are lead by experienced martial arts instructors. Amazing fun and all friendly, supportive people, Battle Blades classes are open to all ages, genders and fitness levels. Totally recommend. More...

We've all seen those epic fight scenes on Game of Thrones and Star Wars. Now's your chance to learn to re-enact them for real, under the experienced wing of John Keeley. Whether you're drawn to synthetic HEMA bastard/long swords or LED sabres, these combat grade blades are the weapons of choice at Battle Blades, which students are diligently instructed in wielding correctly. Battle Blades provides students with the opportunity to learn to fight with a blade for real i.e. combat, for sport or - if you study hard enough - for demonstration purposes, entertaining crowds at events and such. Learning the art of sword combat will also help keep you fit and improve your stamina - sparring is a tiring work out. :) Depending on your appetite, you can take on as little or much as you desire. So even in you have a passing interest, come down for a session and give Battle Blades a go - you won't be dissapointed. More...

My Son has always struggled with after school clubs and finding one he’d stick to being Autistic. I introduced him to Battle blades 2 years ago and he absolutely loves it, he enjoys seeing everyone each week, Jon & Craig are amazing with his needs and pushing his independence . .. my husband joined them shortly after and now they both enjoy their weekly session together learning techniques and maintaining fitness levels! I highly recommend them, trial a class in your area and see for yourself, a friendly and welcoming group More...
