I’m a bit different to a lot of the other people on here because I’m not a counsellor or therapist, I’m a Mindfulness Coach.

What that means is, rather than talking about your past traumas, your relationship with your parents and so on, we focus on the here and now.

Counselling

I sought Andy’s help with anger management after I let my anger get the better of me and in the process upset very close people on my life. I have always been prone to angry outbursts but this had gone too far. Not only did I hurt my loved ones but I also felt immense guilt which was eating me up. Andy was extremely attentive, listened without judgement and gave kind considered advice along with role playing activities which helped me realise that I needed to change my ways. The role plays were particularly good because they coaxed out of me my emotions behind my outbursts, why I think I’m justified and why I am completely wrong in shouting and screaming. It was almost like me recognising the devil on my shoulder telling me to lose my temper and the devil telling me why I should behave that way. And when a mirror is shined on one’s poor behaviour it does make one want to do something about it.

Andy’s approach starts with a free 45 minute session to see if you think you will get on with his style of therapy. I felt a good connection at that point and decided to go ahead with his sessions. In total I had 6 sessions and one wrap up at the end.

Change doesn’t come with a few therapy sessions. It is a big work in progress and requires a lot of patience and willingness to change. I can’t say I am cured of anger issues but I can say that with Andy’s help I cope with upsetting situations a lot better now and have learned some techniques to minimise the impact of my temper.

I would gladly recommend Andy to anyone who needs help with the way they express their anger.

Andy is very talented and prepares well for sessions. I was quite unhappy and struggling with friendships and self esteem. Andy helped me listen more to myself and investigate what was happening. With Andy's help, I've learnt to be a lot more compassionate towards myself, recognise the purpose of the tougher emotions and feel more comfortable in my own skin. I would say that I'm generally a bit calmer now and emotions don't floor me like they used to. Andy encouraged me to be brave and take action on aspects of my life I was avoiding. In a session with Andy, you can expect him to be taking in what you tell him and making notes - he will interrogate ambiguities in a kind manner and question your thinking with compassion. Working with Andy helped me get a hang on my temper and allowed me to build new standards of behaviour for myself within my relationship. I really liked his no-nonsense approach. It’s so easy to lean on your excuses and people I’ve worked with in the past haven't been able to tell me what I need to hear or hold me accountable like Andy. Life Coaching

I was looking for an alternative way to get support in finding more inner peace as well as finding ways to be more consistent with healthier routines. I decided a life Coach would be the best way forward and came across Andy on the Bark platform.

Instantly I felt he was a great match for me on this journey, and this was based on our first consultation session.

I loved his ability to listen with intent, summarise what I way saying or feeling and then support me with understanding some of my thought processes. Often Andy was able to assist me with turning negative thought patterns into positive ones, whixh was very empowering.

His use of meditation during sessions as well as poems that were connected to things we had discussed, was very powerful and impactful.

I enjoyed his sense of humour, honesty and ability to empathise and be genuine. I would highly reccoment Andy as a life coach.

I was introduced to some podcasts that were relevant to me as well a very useful app that can help me on my journey. I am now more kind to myself and have Andy to thank for this.

I came to Andy as I was feeling overwhelmed with life in general, everything was going wrong for me, I felt so low and did not know which way to turn. Andy has helped me in the past so I knew he was the best person for me to speak to.

Within one session Andy helped me to think more positively and to be calmer. He encouraged me to start meditating at least a few times a week, even just for 5 minutes, which felt achievable and not overwhelming. The fact that I can talk so freely with Andy and offload everything which was stored in my head, was a huge relief to me. Andy is very good at listening and breaking everything down. His calm approach makes me feel calm!

After the session I started to think more positively, because I was positive good things started to come my way. I didn't realise how closed off I was to everything and everyone.

Andy is very good at giving me tools and advice for everyday life. Speaking with Andy is like talking to an old friend, he makes me feel at ease instantly. I would recommend him highly!

Before working with Andy, I realised that due to a series of difficult life events I was becoming very serious and losing sight of the playful side of myself. I wanted to re-discover the more spontaneous, 'fun' side of my personality.
Andy's unique blend of listening carefully and prompting with appropriate questions led me to understand more about my patterns of taking responsibility and of over-thinking situations.
Andy is like a breath of fresh air. Talking with him is both revealing and energising. I quickly felt as if I'd known him for many years, although that wasn't the case at all. He inspires confidence and I feel that I can go back to him at any time in the future if I need to pick up where we left off.
I feel that Andy is a very special coach in the way he encouraged me to think deeply about the patterns I wanted to let go of - before moving onto focussing on what I wanted to achieve. Already I'm taking more time for myself and feeling happier than I have for a long time.

I couldn’t recommend Andy more - he’s such a brilliant coach! Although I was excited to start my sessions, I was also a little sceptical at the beginning, but I’m so glad I committed to the journey. It’s been incredible and I’d recommend starting a mindfulness journey to anyone. I’ve learnt so much from Andy, about myself and also new ways of looking at things that I apply to my day to day life. Life Coaching

Andy is a gem. It is comforting and liberating to find someone who mindfully listens, understands and gives honest advice when we are at our lowest. Working with Andy was a breath of fresh air and it was such a relief to find someone who listened without being judgemental. Our sessions dealt with a history of depression and low self esteem, relationship difficulties, lack of empathy and how to forgive. I can't recommend Andy highly enough. After sleeping very badly for years, his gentle coaching & introduction to meditation has cured my insomnia. The meditation has been life-changing. I was dwelling too much on small, niggling problems. I feel much happier, calmer, and more productive now. I highly recommend Andy due to his effective, person-centred methods, which he introduces on 1:1 sessions and on his courses. I have been struggling to accept difficult emotions in my entire life as I have had this false idea that experiencing joy and bliss at all times is required to live a fulfilling life. And now here I am, sitting with my difficult emotions and heavy heart, experiencing and accepting grief, stillness and bliss at the same time. That's one of my biggest takeaways from our 1:1 sessions. Visualisation, body sensations meditation and the 'glimpsing the Buddha mind' technique are also powerful ways to get out of our narrow minds. Doing something for a living that I enjoy, helps people and that I'm good at.

When I started to meditate it totally changed my life. I felt happier, calmer, more connected and fulfilled. When I find things that help me I always want to share them with people, so it made sense to turn my passion into a business.

I'm very good at what I do! I help people to make progress with their issue quickly. I connect with people in a way that makes them feel safe and we usually have a laugh in the sessions too.

I usually work over the phone. I usually only use zoom for group sessions.

Even before Covid, I found that people can really open up on the phone, perhaps even more so than in person.

In terms of 1-2-1 coaching I haven't had to do anything differently because I was already working over the phone.

Services

I’ve helped people get a pay rise, a promotion, the best performance review of their career, deal with depression, navigate the rough seas of divorce, overcome anxiety, dramatically reduce their insomnia, break out of a cycle of toxic relationships to find love and feel a deep sense of inner-peace.

There are an infinite number of ways you could help someone to achieve those results, but my approach in based on helping you practice a few key mindfulness-based skills:

– Bringing the wandering mind back to the present moment
– Being more aware of sensations in the body
– Accepting feelings and all aspects of yourself
– Being kind to yourself and others
– Practising gratitude for your life as it is

We practice these simple but powerful skills during one-hour sessions together, and I ask you to continue practising at home by meditating and writing down things you are grateful for every day.
