At the last moment my wife bought tickets for us and her parents who were celebrating their 46th wedding anniversary. This was for a Christmas themed 80’s Disco night! ||We are both members of the gym which we love, but have never ventured beyond these facilities - mainly due to living very close to Hall Garth and choosing to socialise further afield. However, what a lovely surprise we had at the function in the hotel. It’s a shame the place wasn’t busier - as there was no aspect of the night I can criticise. The 3 course meal was beautiful, not only in taste but matched in presentation. |The staff were happy and friendly - and not in a way that appeared false: from bar staff to table servers they were all lovely.|As for the disco - I have to confess I’m not a massive fan of hitting the dance floor, but the DJ used a couple of clever games to overcome this. He actually visited all of the tables to ply his wares and by making people inclusive I soon found myself dancing with my 2 left feet which is a rarity! |The bar prices for a hotel were pretty reasonable, and with the alcohol flowing 5 hours just disappeared. |Well done Hall Garth and thank you. a what a gem of a place. booked using Groupon. 67.00 including dinner a glass of wine and breakfast. Room was dated but had all the home comforts and spotlessly clean. staff very welcoming and helpfully.food so tasty and great variety. Spent the weekend away with a friend as part of a pamper weekend.|The best thing about this place, is the fantastic hospitality of the staff, they are so welcoming and efficient. They couldn’t do enough for us.|Enjoyed the facial and back massage, very professional. The leisure facilities are exceptionally clean, in particular the changing rooms.|The bedroom, all be it a little tired, very comfortable and had everything you needed for your stay. |The evening meal was well presented and delicious, and so was the breakfast. Good choice of food, and the drinks weren’t ridiculously expensive.|Would highly recommend it, but don’t expect a 5 star hotel, ie buildings, but definitely 5 star for the staff and the cleanliness. If I could give 10 stars I would. Absolutely superb hotel. Staff exceptional. Food wonderful. Two of our family had the duck and other two had trout. Absolutely lovely. A very good place to stay although we were unlucky as it rained all the time. No chance for golf therefore but the pool and gym were welcome and our room was excellent in every respect. All the staff seemed happy to help us. The food was good for our two breakfasts and an evening meal. We went to the local pub for a meal on the second evening for a change. Having worked hard all day at our own pub an evening out with a meal and the health club facilities was just in order, couldn't faul ANY of the staff, receptionists, bar staff, restaurant staff and the gent who supplied some much needed medication having left mine at home. ..one very small comment to not and I have left word with hotel personally is that a little more attention to ddetail on the room cleaning side wouldn't go amiss...dead bugs on the bedside table light bulbs along with a few cobwebs and dead bugs in the lighting rose of the bathroom light...only very minor faults that prevents me giving Hall Garth an all over excellent result....would we go back....absolutely we would...and to me that says more than any reveiew can More...

We had our wedding here on 25/10/19 and it was perfect. Kelly was amazing from the moment we booked to evening of the wedding day. Jackie was brilliant at keeping everything organised and running smooth but at the same time it felt so relaxed. Nothing was a problem and they could not have done more! All our guests said it was perfect and thought the hotel was marvellous. The honeymoon suite was beautiful when we went to bed that evening and had all been set up with petals, gifts and some of the decor from our wedding. It was like a movie setting. Surprised by the quality on offer at such a remarkably low price. We often book an impromptu stay on weekend nights and when we saw Hallgarth at less than £50 for a Friday night we decided it was too good to miss. ||||It was.||||Although we were late arrivals and didn’t eat dinner, we enjoyed a drink in one of the lounges since Stables was closed. ||||The young staff were a little inexperienced and although it showed (a bit slow and not hugely attentive) they more than made up for that with their pleasant attitude.||||Breakfast was an absolute delight and there was a surfeit of breakfast goods on offer. We stayed mid week at the end of October on the dinner bed and breakfast option. The food quality is exceptional and the setting is very peaceful. Full access to the spa facilities and also the option to play the 9 hole golf course for an additional fee. Very friendly staff who are very attentive, and nothing is too much trouble. We upgrade to a feature room each stay, it is well worth paying that little bit extra for. We have been going here since 2013 and will be returning once again in 2020. More...

They say you get what you pay for, so in that respect we got better than expected. Darlington itself may not conjure up a rural setting, but we enjoyed a visit to the town, the lHead of Steam” railway museum and its many pubs. |Being a wedding anniversary we went for half board. We would not have been so forgiving had we paid full price but you cannot complain with this deal.||If we had paid full price we would not have been happy with the size of the bed and the lack of a shower. The plumbing could be very noisy. ||The restaurant is superb with great views but the food did not match this high standard and the wine was too expensive for the quality of bottle.||The staff were great and the location for touring this region was ideal. Booked through Booking.com, bed and breakfast for £80 which we thought was well worth it. It was my boyfriend’s 60th birthday so the staff made a fuss of him! |He had a massage - his first ever - and loved it. We had a four poster room which is a little tired in places but very clean. |Satnav sent us to the wrong place to start with! Booked this hotel for a two night stay , the location was good for us as we were spending the days at Croft circuit. The hotel is very friendly and the staff were all attentive and helpful. Great value and staff were friendly, room was clean, comfortable and of a good size with great views over the golf course. Food was very good and reasonably priced. We had a superior room which is in the newer part and as said was a very nice room. Only downside was that there was a wedding reception below which was loud until midnight. We also visited the Stables bar, I found little character and it was quite clinical I was happy to stay in the hotel however and the lounges were comfortable and quiet. We have just returned from a lovely two night stay at this elegant hotel. Set in acres of land which included a golf course, we were greeted by friendly and informative reception staff on arrival. |We enjoyed a delicious meal on our first evening, I had the belly pork set on a bed of vegetables, beautiful! |The breakfast buffet had a large choice of continental foods and also a hearty full English too. |I didn’t use the spa but was told that it was very nice.|On returning from our day out on the second day, we were served a very tasty |and beautifully presented cream tea. From the moment we pulled up in the carpark and carried our cases to Reception we could tell we were in an hotel which was well equipped and welcoming. The Receptionist was friendly and knowledgeable about the hotel and services offered and had already allowed us to rearrange our stay in a room of our choice. The room was comfortable, had a good view over the golf course and the expected level of add ons such as tea and coffee.
