I was there yesterday for my 30th birthday cocktails... The staff was very nice and helpful, the cocktails was very good, the music was nice, the atmosphere was so warm and decorated with flowers like a garden and the best part it was our private sitting area under a red tent with low lights and very comfy sofas and we didn't expect that it was awesome(we said wow). ... Went to here after a few drinks on a Saturday at the Aviary, didn't expect it to be so much fun! Bar staff were brilliant, music was early 2000s, bouncers friendly, drinks were nice, and we could even sit down when we wanted. The crowd was also really good.

Absolutely wonderful staff! Warm, welcoming and seemingly genuinely enthused to give patrons a great experience. 'Vikki' in particular was lovely. I normally don't drink (exception being that evening) and know next to nothing about cocktails, much less any other type of booze.Among her heroics, she: took orders straight from my table (I didn't have to walk to the bar once!), recommended my drinks (I have to say she was spot on), took the time to chat to me while my guests were running late (and thus didn't feel like such a square).But what impressed me most: I asked where the fire escapes were (I've been trapped in burning buildings before and always make a point of knowing the exits. Especially in sub ground level spaces) she duly dropped what she was doing to give me a tour of the bar's exits. Then when the fire alarm went off during the evening, she specifically came to make sure I was alright.The bar then gave a round of free drinks due to the disturbance.I've rarely ever received such attentive service from most any establishment. I am remiss in having to leave hurriedly without leaving a suitable tip... A problem remedied for next time. The Whistling Shop is a really fun place to go to for cocktails. It's an underground bar with a short but quality cocktail list - and then a remarkable list of gins if you feel like a G&T! The best cocktail bar I have ever been to. At first they bring you a little short menu with their own concoctions, but there is a also a spirit list with (no exaggeration) 60 gins! I soon realised that I could ask for any classic cocktail, including ones with difficult to source ingredients (like an Aviation) and they would make it. Was here for my sisters birthday drinks on the...5th I think of December? Anyway, it seeves some wonderful concoctions, which I am sure the cocktail purists will love. However, the biggest draw for me, would be the fact that they serve Bacardi 8, a tipple which only one other emporium of inebriation I have ever patronised, has served. Its dimly lit environs, friendly staff and selection of improbable liquid combinations, make this a fantastic stop for anyone who appreciates the art involved with creating a FANTASTIC hangover. Hidden bar not too far from Liverpool Street station, 10 minutes walk. Variety of unique cocktails reasonable price & nice cosy place for dates, meeting or parties. Not suitable for children.
