Q&As

Typically, garage conversions will cost more if the original structure is unsound. If you are going to spend a lot of money stabilizing the building, knocking the original garage down and building from scratch might be cheaper.

Another factor to consider when costing garage conversions is the perceived value that it will add to your home. Check the value of houses in your area, if there is little off-road parking, homes with garages might be valued higher than those without. Unless the added space is vital, don’t run the risk of reducing the value of your own home.

Consider what you’ll do with everything currently kept in the garage, too. If it is full of garden tools and your lawnmower, you’ll need to factor a new garden building or shed into your plans; if it’s where you keep your chest freezer, you’ll need to work out where it can be moved to — or whether you can live without it. If you really have no room anywhere else for these things, perhaps a partial garage conversion (or a conversion that has lots of storage space set aside within it) will work better for you.

Step 1: Carry out an assessment of your garage and decide how you can utilize the space.
Step 2: All planning and building regulations and requirements will need to be considered
Step 3: Obtain a written contract from your contractor/builder/garage conversion company which clearly states everyone’s responsibilities and what you need to pay on completion of the project.
Step 4: Once the contract is in place and you have all permission approved you can start by clearing out the garage space.
Step 5: Diligence must be taken to ensure that the wall is of sound build and is able to repel moisture from the ground (damp proofing) and also resist the outside elements.
Step 6: Now that the majority of the building works have completed, you can begin to decorate your new space.
Step 7: Once you’ve decorated your newly converted garage, you and your family can begin to reap the benefits of the additional space in your home!

1. Can you stand up in your loft?
2. How much space is there between the purlins (these support the rafters) in your roof?
3. How was your roof made?
4. Is there a space on the landing below, where you can imagine stairs rising up from?
5. Is there a space in the loft where you can imagine stairs emerging
6. Do any of your neighbors have loft conversions?

1. Before you do anything else, you need to work out whether your loft space is actually suitable for a conversion.
2. Look for other loft conversions on your street
3. Measure the head height. The minimum height you need for a loft conversion is 2.2m
4. Check what type of roof you have. Depending on when it was built, your house will either have roof trusses or rafters.
5. Consider the floor below. Many people neglect to factor in changes to the floor below the loft when planning a conversion. It's worth having a think about where the staircase is likely to go and how much room it might take up.
6. Which type of loft conversion should you go for. There are four main types of loft conversion: roof light, dormer, hip-to-gable and mansard. The one you choose is likely to be determined by a number of factors, including the type and age of house you live in, and your budget.

We love to see a satisfied customer / client and that meant that I have done a good job. For me this count as my first wage before the monetary reward. Each work brings a new dimension in solving a problem. Though at times works may seem to be the same but there are one or two things that are not so the same. We tend not to assume that I have done it before and therefore not following all the necessary step of approach to engage in a work or project

I am creative and like to make things happen. I wanted to look at things in a very creative way. They say that I am very talented in organizing and managing things. I knew that myself but when several people acknowledge my abilities then in order not be restricted I decided to put my skills into good use. I have been employed before but working for myself has enabled me to develop more and teach others working for me. Also I like to meet client's expectations and where it's not possible I try to manage that expectation because I understand what the client need is.

We carry out quality work and customers get value for their money. We am reliable, give you an honest opinion, and we want client business first and money second.
