The hotel reception staff was very pleasant and helpful, the room was basic, with tea & coffee making facility, which unfortunately, was not topped up during my three day stay. I used the R Inn restaurant the first night & had a Chinese meal menu, beef chop suey, which I found to be too salty & not like any other chop suey I had at other establishments. The good points are that it is in the town centre, one bad point is there was nowhere in town to have breakfast on Sunday morning before my journey home, as Desboro is the only place that shuts at midday Saturday for the weekend. Picked for value and location whilst attending a course a few miles away. The hotel is as has been mentioned by others certainly quirky with layout and effectively different adjacent buildings but it certainly doesn't detract overall. ||Receptionist very polite and walked me to the entrance to the additional rooms next door and explained access and details clearly.||Room (room 9) clean and tidy which is what matters. ||What could be better?.....||WiFi - I'm guessing that the WiFi is provided by a single router somewhere as the signal is virtually non existent and unusable to the point I'm writing this using the sim card I have in my iPad connected via 4G. My phone shows the same WiFi signal strength. It could really do with having repeaters on every floor, either as a mesh network or extended via powerline adapters (that use the existing building electricity cabling to carry the signal to the repeaters). Doesn't cost much to do and would make a huge difference as decent WiFi is generally an expected given these days and not everyone is lucky enough to have unlimited data in their devices.||The power and aerial cabling to the TV could do with lengthening and affixing to the wall in some trunking as it currently hangs down and trails across the kettle and tea making items.||Only other comment is about the sink in the bathroom...and it seems more and more places are doing this. I appreciate fitting an en suite takes space but why do places fit a sink the size designed for a small cloakroom WC and only just big enough to wash hands, not a chance of a proper face wash without soaking the floor. Another common practise as here is fitting a glass shelf just above the sink where it's easy to catch your head if not careful when washing your face. On the other hand a nice full glass shower cubicle is available so not a biggy.||Would this put me off staying again? No not at all! - for the cost of the room I'd still say it's great value and perfect for what I needed.|| More...

Clean and hassle free. Good shower, clean beds and bathroom. Central location. A point off as the bed for our 7 year old had no mattress, but rather a rolled up duvet. So she had to sleep with us. Presumably the original mattress was in no good state. These things happen with kids mattresses. They tried to accommodate with an extra duvet but 7 year olds can be very picky. If you've small kids maybe look elsewhere but otherwise fine. Off street parking at no extra cost was good and the tapas bar downstairs turned off its music at 10pm prompt. More...

Good value for money £81 for 2 nights with breakfast, there was a problem with the sockets in room 11 a single room, the manager came to see me in 5 minutes and upgraded me free of charge to a larger room.
