The Blue Ivy Hotel

This place has plenty of character and experience value. We hired the "board room" for a Hen Party and the manager (James) and Maitre D' (Dan) where welcoming and full of smiles. So attentive and made for some very entertaining circumstances. We will be back for Tapas which I hear is amazing from here. Another great nights stay, so close to town with off street parking, amazingly friendly staff too. The breakfast is lovely using good quality butchers bacon, sausages and clearly free range eggs. Thanks again!

Our two night stay was in this property right in the centre of town was extremely comfortable. The hotel staff were most helpful and always to hand when needed, excellent breakfast each morning and very handy free parking right behind the property. All good.

This was a great hotel, well positioned, accessible with free off street parking. Great value for money, the breakfasts were freshwith plenty choice. The staff were really friendly, the manager in particular was friendly, quite a charachter. We had lunch in the rerstuarant one afternoon, tapas, I must say the food was great. Lovely small hotel within easy walking distance of all the pubs restaurants shops and places of interest. Our room had a very comfortable bed and good shower room, the staff are very friendly and provide a great breakfast, we wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Boutique Colchester.

We stayed in a twin room for just one night midweek to see a band at the Arts Centre just a few minutes walk away. Free secure parking was a rarity around this location and a major plus. The room was fine, a decent bathroom with ample tea and coffee in the room. The staff were friendly and helpful, I particularly enjoyed the cooked breakfast - good quality ingredients, suggest they add beans to the Full English, otherwise was very good. We had the all you can eat tapas and Prosecco and it didn’t disappoint. My friend has had tapas from all over and she said it was the best she had eaten. The food was Devine and our glasses were kept topped up. So friendly and attentive, nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommend to anyone wanting either a few drinks, dinner, a room for the night or a business meeting. I will be back to try more of the menu!! Top service, top food, what more can you ask for!!
