The lil one loves this place, open space, animals (safely held) and lots of activities to burn energy. We also enjoy going as it feels like a safe and very open environment to let the lil one run around.

A fantastic wedding venue with beautiful bedrooms and amazing service. The staff are fantastic, nothing is too much trouble and they ensure your day runs smoothly. The drinks are a little expensive but this is often the case with wedding venues. The views are incredible. Well worth a visit if you're planning a wedding. The manor also hosts different events throughout the year. More...

Our day was perfect! Lucy and the team at Old Down were absolutely amazing. They were organized and accommodating, making it seamless to plan a wedding there from abroad. We didn’t have to worry about anything on our wedding day. The food and wine was delicious and surprised our American guests who were expecting "wedding chicken". We couldn’t have asked for a better day. More...

We cannot recommend Old Down highly enough. Emma and the team were fantastic and enabled us to have a perfect wedding. Nothing was a problem even when we had guests drop out at the last minute, Emma reassured us and we could trust her that she would sort things. Throughout the day Lucy and Emma ensured we had everything we needed and the staff were attentive to our guests as well. The day itself ran so smoothly and it allowed us to relax throughout. All in all we had an amazing day due to having such a wonderful team! More...

I attended a wedding at this venue and what can I say... The venue was excellent, the staff were useful and it made a very enjoyable experience. The venue is located just outside of Bristol and just off of the motorway which made the location exclusive yet convenient for all. The only potential negatives are that the cloakroom is limited as if the size of the bar. More...

We had our wedding and reception at the manor in October and it was the most wonderful day. The manor itself is absolutely stunning and such a perfect wedding venue. Throughout the entire planning process and lead up to the day Emma was so amazing to deal with, she always responded to my many queries in a timely manager and made sure everything was answered. She really made me feel at ease about the planning and run up to the wedding and I can't thank her enough for making our day so perfect. Jason and the front of house team were also so brilliant on the day, everything was explained to us so we understood the running of the day and they all made sure everything went without a hitch. I really could not recommend Old Down highly enough nothing was too much and truly lovely people to work with you and be there on your special day who all made us feel at ease. Thank you so much to everyone at Old Down! More...

We got married at Old Down in early May and want to say a huge thank you to Emma, Jason and the team for helping to make it so special.

We chose Old Down because of the amazing view and grounds – which looked even more spectacular in the spring sunshine. The atmosphere was relaxed, service discrete and friendly, and the food delicious. We had great comments from our guests.

Emma was a great support to us in the months leading up to the wedding, helping patiently with all my questions. On the day, Jason was amazing – he has a good sense of humour and kept the day moving smoothly so we could just relax and enjoy it all.

Thanks Old Down - we’ll be back soon to visit and reminisce!

Beautiful venue, good food. Grounds were amazing. Only downside staff for the park aren't really sure what to tell you as a wedding guest, parking is in the normal car park then walk through the large gates around the corner then right to the manor house (no signs for some reason).
Bar prices are reasonable no more than a bristol/bath bar would be.

We got married at Old Down Manor on 7/4/18 and would like to thank Katie, Jason and the rest of the team for making it such a special day. As experts, they were on hand to advise us through the planning stages. Jason was also a fantastic 'master of ceremonies' who made the day run smoothly and meant that we could relax and enjoy ourselves.
We were first attracted by the amazing grounds and view across the Severn Estuary and once we saw inside Old Down Manor, we were sold. The decor is simple and elegant, so does not need much to turn it into a dream wedding venue. The accommodation was amazing and made it easy to have families with young children to enjoy the whole day. The bridal suite in particular was so amazing that we invited people up throughout the day to take a look! Staff were friendly throughout, even during breakfast after not much sleep. The bar has a wide selection and matches up to the high quality food provided.
Another highlight was a visit to the country park the next day with guests who had stayed at the manor. It was great to extend our wedding experience as we didn't want to leave and we know we can visit again in the future to relive some memories. Thank you so much Old Down for providing the perfect setting for our wedding.

Dear Katie, Jason and the rest of the team,

Myself and Craig would like to thank you all so much for making our wedding on the 14/02/18 so special. You made the whole process so easy and really did everything you could to ensure the smooth running of the day, especially in the months leading up to the wedding with changes and requests.

Everything, from how beautiful the manor looked, accommodation of artists such as the harpist and band, the canapes, to the absolutely delicious afternoon tea that you prepared combined to create an atmosphere that was truly spectacular and a day that we will never forget. Everyone even commented on how good the wine was!

Everyone that stayed at the manor was thrilled with the rooms and if I had a pound for every guest that asked how we found such a stunning venue we could probably get married again!

Thank you so much and I hope you're all well. We will definitely be using our complimentary passes for life so we shall both be visiting soon.

Matt & Craig

P.S Anyone who may be looking for suppliers at Old Down Manor, we used a few from the preferred list and can't recommend them enough:

From our first viewing right up until the wedding every member of staff that we met at Old Down were friendly and helpful. Any email correspondence was answered straight away and no question was too silly! Old Down Estate supported us throughout the wedding planning process.

When it came to the rooms we had the freedom to make them our own - a refreshing change to some venues who do not allow this. Each room was stunning and the venue wowed guests.

The food was amazing and so many people complimented it! Again all staff were friendly and helpful and the service was fantastic.

Throughout the day myself and my husband were reassured and talked to about what was happening and when. It was well organised and we didn’t need to worry about a thing.

We cannot thank Old Down enough for everything they have done to make our wedding so magical and everything we had dreamed it to be. It will be a day we will never forget.

Many thanks

Great venue. We were lucky enough to play at Old Down Manor on 3/6/17. As a wedding band we get to see a lot of venues. Old Down Manor does not have noise restrictions like some venues (if you plan on booking a band this can be important). In the house the band / entertainment sets up in a separate room which means if speeches run late this will not effect your band from setting up in time. It also means your band can set up their equipment without having to walk past your guests with lots of boxes. The house is very beautiful and grounds are well kept. The house also has a pool which is pretty cool, I am not sure what the terms are, but I imagine after a hard night partying a dip in a warm indoor pool would be quite nice. If you are looking for a venue close to Bristol I would recommend Old Down Manor. More...

My wedding ceremony was held here Friday 21st April. It was amazing! The house and grounds are fantastic. All the staff and wonderful, helpful and very organised. Jason looked after us, he was a lovely guy and ensured everything ran smoothly and according to plan. My wedding coordinator was originally Adele, and changed to Katie a few weeks before. Both ladies were fantastic, very informative, helpful, organised friendly and nice. Thank you so much for helping us celebrate our special day. More...

We have just come back from an extremely fun filled afternoon at old down country park and I can't believe I have never been here before. This place is amazing and such fantastic value for money. At £8 an adult and £5 for children over 2 you really can't go wrong. You pay in the little shop as you walk in that then leads you to the first part which is filled with coupe cars, ride along toys, deck chairs, benches, a big bouncy castles and some little Wendy houses. This is a lovely spot for a picnic, you can let the children run wild whilst you sit down and relax. As you walk along the lovely preened pathway you have the option to go left or right.Left: This takes you to a beautiful orchard with lots of lovely wild flowers. In the middle they have a big yurt where you can hold a party. It's not massive but would be great for kids. They also have a huge chess board on the floor to play with.Right: This takes you to the adventure park and the animals. This was our favourite part. The field is itself is absolutely huge with a selection on farm animals, all very happy running around in their pens. Just away from the animals were 3 HUGE bouncy castle slides, a big paddling pool, water walkers, go karts & a big play area.On site there is a little shop and also a little cafe selling hot and cold food and drinks.Seriously this place is amazing, if you have kids you should most definitely try it out!! What a fantastic day out. This place offers a lot for family's. Great value for £8 per adult and £5 for children over two, under twos are free !The grounds are fantastic lots of open space for the children to wonder and explore and also paths that follow through the trees and gardens. Brilliant for children, especially the younger ones. We took our 2 year old here today and it was excellent. A petting area allowed her to get close to lambs, rabbits, pigs, and chickens. Then a picnic and Punch & Judy show on the lawn, before bouncy castles, trampolines, goats, llamas, donkeys, ponies, swings, slides, and ice cream. Absolutely perfect. More...

Since recently reopening, after being closed for a number if years, Old Down Country Park has quickly become one of the most popular tourist attractions in Bristol! There are all sorts of animals here like Shetland ponies and potbellied pigs as well as a an adventure playground, woodland walks, gardens, a fishing lake, even a Croquet lawn! There's a cafe to grab a cup of tea in and a farm shop so you can take home some of the home grown delights! A good venue for a ball perhaps? More...

Old Down Country Park is not your typical stately home. It is a farm/zoo/park/house. Great for the whole family too. They have large lawn areas for picnics, a café for those who didn't pre-prepare food, and lots and ltos of animals. Expect to find your typical farm animals. Goats? Check. Pigs? Check. Sheep? Check. Ponies? Check. Wallabies check!!! Entry is only a fiver and you can spend the whole day there (weather permitting) walking along the Victorian walls and cooing at all the cute animals. More...
