What is capoeira? Originally created by African slaves in Brazil, capoeira is a celebration of life in the face of everyday struggle. The circular and evasive movements of capoeira, combined with a rich tradition of music and dance, place it in a unique position as an art that always poses the question: "Is capoeira a game, a fight or a dance?" Come and learn the movements, they will develop your confidence and fitness and will make you feel centred and balanced.

Don't be put off joining a capoeira class because you're not a gymnast or acrobat. Beginners are not expected to be able to do cartwheels and handstands from the outset. However, your fitness will build from day one and after a few months of training, you might be surprised what you can do.

Ginga means 'sway' in Portuguese, and originally this move was an escape or retreat. Ginga is the most basic Capoeira step and the one from which all other movements stem, so it's worth getting it right.

What I love about teaching Capoeira is the interaction that I have with people from all differents back grounds.
There's nothing more pleasurable than seeing a student slowly growing and developing their Capoeira skill set day after day.
I love teaching Capoeira, my intention is always to help people gain confidence, self-steam, discipline or even make a new friend.

I launched because of my desire to make a difference. I wanted to work with others to help move them forward in profound ways in their lives. I know that I could offer the perspective, structure, support, and honesty others needed to make big transitions in their lives. This drives me to make a difference.

I have been doing Capoeira for over 20 years of my life.
