Really nice campsite, with good facilities and friendly owners. Everyone on the site was chilled out which was nice compared to some of the bigger sites. One small issue was a single sink for washing up, so you had to wait use it, but such a minor issue. More...

We stayed for three nights of camping with an electrical hookup. We found the place by chance when we wanted to book somewhere at short notice, and didn't put much thought into it, but it turned out great. The field for camping is on a hill with amazing views, but flat and easy to pitch on. We had the most enormous storm on our last night but the ground was fine. Great sunset views. The facilities are maybe a little basic to some and I guess they could get busy if there are lots of campers, but they were just fine for us. Very clean, and hot water always available quickly, which is not always the case at other sites. The farm is an active one and tractors regularly crossed the field as they were gathering the hay, but we found this interesting and not a disturbance. The site is well located for Ashbourne, Ilam and Dovedale and easy to find as it is on the A52 between Ashbourne and Leek so you can't really miss it. All in all we had a great stay and thought it was very good value. More...

Very hot water for showers and pot washing lots for kids even feeding the lambs.Emily is a very kind and gracious host, helped me out when I had a mini disaster with my camping equipment due to horrendous weather this week. Campsite is clean and tidy with quirky details around every corner, glamping huts also available, very cosy. Enjoyed our camping trip, the site is quite big, good for children, the children can go feed the animals at the farm on a morning, which they are given a fresh egg for helping from the chickens. The owner took the children around the site out on the tractor which was different and they thoroughly enjoyed it.The campsite itself was quite open to winds so quite cool most nights, maybe could do with bushes/trees around the perimeter. The showers are very inexpensive, the rest of the facilities spot on too, would recommend. We have just gotten back from a bank holiday weekend glamping adventure at Emily’s and Bill’s Farm. |Our girls (aged 6 and 7) have throughly enjoyed a few days of freedom in safe exploration on the farm, tending to the chickens, collecting eggs, feeding and running with Elliot and Stella (adorable baby lambs) and feeding the pigs! |Our pair of toddlers (1 and 2) have been most welcomed and accommodated too. |The glamping accommodation was perfect for us, really beautifully and eclectically decorated, providing all necessary items for comfortable camping! The facilities are brilliant too, really clean and cared for and clearly well thought about.|We found Emily and Billy Whizz to be friendly and really caring and we will definitely be highly recommending their business and intend very much to re-visit again in the future. Hot water... clean... plenty of loo roll... soap... towels etc. What made it for us was the animals and Whizz's awesome museum! Fantastic little campsite, if you want to just get away from it all and relax! Lovely owner who greats you on arrival, giving you tips where to go and what facilities are close by. She encouraged our children to go meet the resident Sheep and pigs and go off exploring the acres of land around the camp field which they didn't need asking twice! Facilities are simple which is what you would expect for £18 per night (a pitch for family of four with electric) but we didn't need anything more. We normally go to campsites with a shop and park so thought the kids might complain but they loved it and said can we come again! The showers were immaculately clean and yes you need a token (50p for 6 minutes) but there is a valid reason why they need to do that and we totally understood so wasn't an issue. We stayed in a large family group at this very good campsite. Some of us stayed in tents and some of us stayed in the Glamping huts. The ground was flat and there was plenty of space for our group of 4 large tents and lots more space for other tents. So a great areavfor children to play and for a large group like ours to sit around a campfire having a sing song! There are two rescue ponies, a couple of pot bellied pigs and sheep..,so great for kids. Plus lots of great walks round about. we loved the museum!||We oldies stayed in the Glamping huts which were very clean, comfortable, well equipped and warm wwith a big area in front for games etc and with truly fab views, a wonderful sight to wake up to. Showers and loos just a few steps away. ||I think a small fridge would have been a good idea? But anyhow there was a fridge in the barn- which we could all use.||There was a small washing up area with plenty of hot water, washing up liquid etc. ||Everyone is very friendly and helpful.||My only gripe, and it is my ONLY gripe , is that I felt the shower and toilet facilities were very basic with no privacy whatsoever. The two wash basins in the Ladies area were in the public area so if you just wanted a wash (and sometimes it's quicker and often the showers were in use by Mums and kids)you would have to do it in full view of everyone else......including the gents and anyone washing up, who would be able to see you through the window! I'm not sure about the Gents but I think they had even less facilities than the Ladies. Having said this the toilets were cleaned regularly and were spotless, but I do feel a little upgrading would be a good idea. More...
