I've trained with MJ since 2015 and have followed her from when she was at Fremont to San Ramon/Pleasanton. That's how great she is!

About me: I've never been athletic and have some back issues. People often mistake me as being athletic, so I was quite complacent with health and nutrition. It wasn't until I noticed I was getting winded going upstairs that I decided to look into a personal trainer.

I know that personal trainers are a dime a dozen when you go to the gym, but I highly recommend MJ. When I talk to my friends who see personal trainers at other gyms, I always get the reply "Oh...my trainer doesn't do that", "I wish my trainer did that" and they always ask me "What does your trainer say about {fill_in_blank}?". With MJ, you'll not only learn how to eat well and exercise correctly, but you'll also understand why.

What makes MJ different than other personal trainers:
1. The exercises she assigns for your homework is challenging, but not impossible and she'll hold you accountable to it to make sure you're doing it with the right form.

2. She goes over your daily nutrition (i.e. what you ate that day) and will explain why you should/shouldn't eat certain things and how it'll affect your workouts/body. She even checked my saliva's pH to see how to improve my diet and nutrition.

3. You will never become complacent while training with her because she'll give you tons of different exercises for your workout collection. Once you think you've got an exercise down, she'll add a new level of difficulty. Plus, she gives you workouts where you won't get bored.

4. She immediately knows the source of any issue that you're having and will give you the correct treatment to fix it. She's continually studying physiology and kinesiology.

My friends have noticed the new definition in my muscles (arms, legs, and butt) which is a really good feeling. Also, when you're able to do exercises that you couldn't do when you first started training and it really gets you motivated to train and workout more.

In 2016, I had major surgery and MJ prepared me before, during and after my operation (physically and nutritionally) such that I recovered quickly and have had no complications that others had.

If you're interested in personal training, go with MJ. You won't be disappointed.

Everything in life has moderation. I eat with portion control (depends on my seasonal goals) I make sure I make time for meditation with positive thinking, sleep recovery, and cooking my own a special meal.
