We used Local builder as they cam recommended by someone and we were very pleased, we had everything ready for our extension but had been searching for the right person. Everything was done very quickly and the job started before no time. Steve turned up everyday to make sure things were on track and we always knew what was going on. We are really pleased with the finish, it looks great! Can't recommend Steve enough! More...

Steve was really great, knew what he was doing and was there on time every day. I didn't have to think twice, everything was done well and came in at what was quoted. I have recommended him to a few people I know and I would definitely use him again! More...
How can someone tell if their Garage is suitable for conversion?
all garages are capable of being converted to habitation provided building regulations/standards are followed.always worth discussing with a builder/conversion specialist for initial advice.
Run us through the different stages of the Garage conversion process - what's involved?
a builder can advise and initiate on having seen site the building process. generally speaking building approval will have to be sought with notification to the local authority building dept. access from living accomodation to garage may involve a structural element a builder is essential to advise on the process.
How can someone tell if their loft is suitable for conversion?
lofts can make a great addition to the family home.the height of the loft between joists/ceiling and roof apex internally will determine the possibility of a loft room.a builder with experience can on initial inspection advise on this issue.
Run us through the different stages in the loft conversion process - what’s involved?
a loft conversion is a major project with input from architects and structural calculations and a competent builder. a detailed plan of the loft with detailed specifications will need to be approved by the local building authority .
How long have you been in business?
i have been involved in building work for twenty years plus, both on residential and commercial projects. i worked on london underground for six years on major repair/upgrade projects.i have worked on residential projects for the past ten years as a self employed builder.i have carried out lofts and extension work in most london boroughs and can advise on planing and building regulations concerning permitted developments.
What guarantee does your work come with?
all my projects are built with local authority building control inspection and site visits and final completion certificates.
What do you love most about your job?
i enjoy building work in general. but being able to build a project from scratch to completion is rewarding as from a clients point it can be diffcult to picture what it will actually look like as opposed to drawings/plans.i enjoy being my own boss and the responsibility involved in the building process
What inspired you to start your own business?
i have worked for other companys some good and some not so good but i always enjoyed being responsible for projects i have worked on. as my own boss i enjoy the response from clients to completed projects.
Why should our clients choose you?
i have a small team of tradesman that i have worked with on previous projects and can vouch for reiiability competence and i would be happy to have work in my own home.i only take on one project at a time and this allows me to concentrate on a smooth building process both for client and myself. all my projects are covered by public liability of min one million and always with building control approval.i can advise on building regulations and permitted development.
