Stayed at Lavender Lodge, which is aesthetically pleasing but scratch the surface and we had nothing but issues. No heating, hot water (twice during our stay), disgustingly dirty dish washer. Couldn't use bath as the taps were limescaled up and needed replacing, the ensuite shower was the same but stuck on hot, so could at least have a shower. Soiled towel and dirty crockery. We literally had a different issue every day we was there. Maintenance did come out to resolve problems hence the 2 star for service. The break was meant to be for birthday celebration but the nause of all the issues put a stop to that. We have complained direct to Allerthorpe hoping we could prevent someone else encountering the same problems. To date no resolution, no offer of refund and not received our bond back when the place had been left clean. More...

My husband and I booked 13th March for 6 nights a 3 bed, Pet Friendly Lodge at Allenthorpe Silver Platinum. costing £1093. 80. We only stayed 2 nights!!||It was more of our static holiday home than a lodge - see Willerby's Brochure ..it was very disappointing -we were given the keys to 12, Portrush. ||I do hope the director's were shown our letter as sometimes they view things differently to the general manager. My son, dog and I had a lovely time here. Site was beautiful, well maintained, very quiet and relaxing. We stayed in lake view vip pet friendly lodge and it was amazing, everything was so clean, lovely white towels and bedding. Hot tub view was perfect. Plenty to do in the local area. We visited York (30 mins drive) Bridlington (50 mins drive) and right next door allerthorpe lakeland park. Can’t wait to come here again More...

A quick two night stay. Booked through Hoseasons. Needed to pay a £200 deposit which is the most we have ever needed to give. We’ve just returned so I cannot comment on the ease of getting it back yet. |We stayed in a Platinum lodge - 2 bedroomed. It was in a quiet location which suited us. The lodges itself was spotlessly clean & we used the hot tub a lot as it was so good. Essentials such as tea, coffee, washing items included. It was a very impressive stay with a lovely, helpful lady whose name I didn’t catch on reception. Many thanks More...

A pleasant stay for a few days as a family. Lodge was clean. Hot tub lovely. Don't turn temerature down as it takes forever to warm up again. A few niggles with the lodge. The main shower was broken. The cork screw and the tin opener both broken. Meal in the on site restaurant was lovey, Service a bit slow because they had far more bookings and walk ins than staff avaialable, but did not spoil a quality supper. Golf course was great and the manager was lovely. Grounds are pleasant - someone on a sit on mower (just doing their job, but at times when you are trying to relax) so a bit noisy at times! Lodges were occipied by a mixture of families, stag and hens and birthday groups so did have a little bit of late night noise from some hot tub groups. Might be better to consider specific areas for party groups and family groups. £200 security deposit is a bit steep and had not expected an email to randomly arrive asking me to transfer it before arrival. As it had gone nto our spam, we got a phone call on our way to the holiday asking us whether we had received the depostit email! The place would also benefit from some play facilities for children. Fishing is nearby but not a part of this park. Not quite a 5 star expereince, but would consider booking again. More...

Booked our parents yearly holiday here. Booked 3 bedroomed VIP lodge. There where 3 adult couples staying in the lodge hence 3 BEDROOM LODGE BOOKED. ..... NOT A 2 BEDROOM LODGE. Both our parents have severe health issues and this will most likely be the last we get to do with them.On arrival of our parents they where given directions to the Lodge allocated to us for the weeks stay booked. When our parents got to the lodge we had been put into a smaller 2 bedroom lodge. I called reception and explained they had made a mistake and we booked and paid for a 3 bedroomed lodge and that I had booked a VIP lodge to be told there was nothing they could do but stated the sofa in lounge pulls out into a bed. I again explained that this was not what I booked and paid for and this simply would not surfice.I contacted Hoseasons who I booked the holiday through who could not Appologise enough and we where offered a 3 bedroomed log cabin in Scarborough which we ended up taking.Absolute terrible service and highly disappointed that no one has attempted to contact me to apologise or explain why they failed to honour the booking from Allerthorpe site. Second stay at Allerthorpe. Opted for a lakeside lodge with hot tub. Location great with lovely views and able to feed the ducks. Site is very well kept spotlessly clean. Grounds beautiful. Lodge itself was clean very well set out and beautiful inside. Modern and well equipped. No issues at all with cleanliness like some reviews have suggested. It was immaculate. Hot tub was lovely and hot every night. So relaxing sitting looking up at the stars. Only very slight criticism would be that there were no instructions in the lodge and we couldn’t get the fire to work. We tried and tried just couldn’t get it going. Lodge had central heating so nice and warm, just would’ve been nice getting the fire on. Other than that it was perfect. Lovely and quiet this time of year so very peaceful and quiet. Ate at the restaurant which was lovely. Staff friendly. Will definitely return More...

DO NOT STAY HERE. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE AND EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER RECEIVED We arrived here at half 3 and there has been no electric since 12 which we were not informed of this before we arrived. We have asked to speak with a manager. We have spoke to Samantha who has provided terrible service. She has said we are not entitled to a refund as we would be sat in the dark at home. The hot tub is cold and there is no heating or electric. It is pitch black and freezing cold and it is a health and safety issue. They have no time when it is going to be back on and have said we are not entitled to a refund More...

WILL NOT BE STAYING HERE AGAIN.|Lovely lodge, cannot complain with that. However the customer service and management was disgusting. We arrived at 15:30 on Thursday, check in at 16:00. There had been a power cut in which we understand was not the businesses fault, but they had known since 12pm and not had the common sense to phone us or any customers and let them know. If we had known we would have rescheduled our trip or at least come prepared with torch’s and other things to help. We were told that the electricity should be back on at 7, and it never was. Did not come back on till 21:30. We had frozen foods which ended up defrosting. The manager Samatha we spoke to had a very bad attitude. No sympathy or solutions. She could have provided things to help, but no we got ‘WHAT WOULD YOU DO IF THIS WAS AT HOME’!!! At home you have more things, she said we weren’t allowed candles for health and safety, yet didn’t care about our health and safety- trips and falls hazard, as it was pitch black, not to mention that it was freezing cold. We ended up having to go to a local pub to keep warm and get food. NO refunds or compensation offered. We are disputing this with booking.com currently.|If it wasn’t for the management the place would be a 5 star. Was supposed to be a surprise for my birthday in which we missed the whole night of being able to use anything. Hot tub has to reheat itself when the electric came back on which took the whole night! My 11yo boy, my 9yo girl, my wife and I stayed here for 4 nights during Feb Half term 2024, it's a great location 25 mins from York and 45 mins from flamingo land and the east coast. We arrived at the friendly welcoming reception They gave us a map with the barrier code, key code and WiFi password for our lodge. We proceeded to 27 Royal Westmoorland Drive at the back of the site. There had been a lot of local flooding in the area and the site was waterlogged but I don't think that is the norm. The whole site was very well kept. We arrived at a clean and warm lodge the beds made and the normal tea, coffee and biscuits in the kitchen. The owners of the lodge had left a welcome folder with local info in it which was helpful. The two twin rooms in the lodge were very small and had very narrow beds, the lodge only has 1 bathroom(the en suite advertised in the description is only a toilet and sink off the double room). Additionally there were only 4 chairs for the dinner table the other 2 seats being stools, only comfortable seating for 5 in the living room and the hot tub was lovely but again not what I would call suitable for 6 grown adults. The lodge was perfect for the 4 of us and the only reason I mention the above is that it would be quite easy from the description of this lodge to assume it is suitable for 6 adults on a relaxing break away but it isn't. It is ideal for a family of 4 with 2 smaller children.I have stayed in a lot of hot tub lodges and the normal complaints were the same with this one. Decent plastic glasses, please have some larger ones. The last thing you want to do is get back out of the hot tub to refill your drink. Hanging hooks, the lodge is for 6 people so supply at least 6 hooks in a suitable place to hang 6 towels. Good ponts. Smart TV with food WiFi. Flame effect heater with remote. Workable kitchen with good fridge and freezer space. A large gas hob (maybe too big for this lodge and gas on glass is a pain to clean). Iron and ironing board. Warm and cosy with plenty of hot water. Quiet and relaxing area of the site. We ventured out every day and we were out for all meals except breakfast so we didn't get a chance to use the on-site JJ'S but it looked popular. There is a burger king, KFC, garage with shop just a few mins drive away from the site for quick snacks and essentials and an Aldi and Sainsbury's in Pocklington about 8 mins drive away. If you go to Pocklington, I recommend Burnby Hall Gardens. Beautiful to walk round and feed the fish. More...

Clean beds made, fresh towels and the hot tub cleaned. 😍. The site is really nice and quiet, and getting in the hot tub looking up at all the stars in the sky was so relaxing. The site was a little water logged due to heavy rain but not the sites fault. I would recommend 👌🏻 we could not fault anything from our weekend. More...

I definitely wouldn't recommend staying here if this is the kind of owner's that are encouraged not very good for Allerthorpes Image. We booked for a family of six but only four could stay as there was nowhere for two of our party to sleep. This was my first visit here, and my last and I definitely wouldn't recommend not only the lodge but the site in general, total rip off avoid at all costs. AVOID AT ALL COST, BED BUGS, STAINS, LEFT WITH NO HEATING OR HOT WATER, NASTY STAFF.My partner and I arrived Friday 24th November for our anniversary weekend away. What we were greeted with was absolutely disgusting. Bugs crawling along the bed sheets and towels, dead flies on the carpets, stains on the sheets, hairs on the cooker, cobwebs and dust everywhere. No hot water or heating when we arrived so the lodge was ridiculously cold. Spoke to an “emergency” line that only operates 5-8pm and the lady put the phone down on me mid sentence of me explaining what our lodge was like. Fire didn't work (handy man out right said he didn’t want to fix it as their was a Christmas tree in the way! And if we wanted to warm up go in the hot tub instead). Our drunken next door neighbours must’ve thought it was funny to come over to our lodge and peep on us in our hot tub. We didn’t stay long in the hot tub when we realised how grimey that was too. Since arriving home I rang reception to file a complaint to which a woman cut me off 5 seconds in to answering the call whilst I was midsentence and said “I don’t deal with this you’ll have to email reservations” then proceeded to give me a false email. I said if this doesn’t get dealt with accordingly I will be leaving a bad review and she then accused me of blackmail. Over all a nightmare of an experience, no further forward in getting a refund or any apology. Awfully rude staff and disgustingly dirty lodges. If I could give negative stars I would. Avoid at all costs. More...

First time staying at Allerthorpe Golf & Country park and I was a little disappointed in all honesty hence only giving it 3 stars. The lodge itself and the grounds was nice however the hot tub had not been cleaned prior to our arrival and the water level was too low with no chlorine tablets in it. Rung reception but got no answer, a voice message was left but they never returned our call. We happened to see a maintenance man on site quite late on in the evening who attended to us and rectified the issue. There was also a problem with the internet in our lodge which left us without any access to the internet for the whole weekend. Phoned reception twice to report this and eventually a maintenance man attended who could not fix it. He gave us the password for the lodge next door to us but the signal was that weak we couldn't get any real signal or access the internet which was annoying as I had some work that I needed to do online. As we checked out we discovered that we had accidentally left a bag containing work clothes in the lodge. We rung reception who stated they would have a look for us and phone us back which they never did. Rang reception again the following day and they have still not had a look. Service was quite poor to say the price of the lodge was expensive. It's put me off going again in all honesty. More...
