We are a small firm of garden professionals. Gary Lemal started in the landscape industry in 1981 as an apprentice with the local authority. Since starting on his own in 1990 he has developed his business, garden maintenance is still a major part of the business as are landscaping projects.

What do you love most about your job?
I love being outside and working in different places, I also get to meet some very interesting people.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Having trained as an apprentice gardener with Leeds City Council, I thought working for myself would be a great adventure. Thing were really hard in the early days, but following further training and periods working for other people I established a business that became known as Groundcare. Much of the original business is administered by others, these leaves me time to do the work I enjoy - proper gardening. I also import and distribute artificial grass most of my clients are landscape professionals or merchants who resell my grass to their customers.
