I had a faultless stay. The house and grounds are beautiful, tastefully decorated, and well maintained. Sam and other staff were fab, super friendly and personable. The bed in the Austen Room was comfy and the facilities were of a great standard. The homemade cookies were a lovely touch. It was a shame that we couldn't open the window as we were quite hot during the first night, but got the radiator temperature right on the second night. Breakfast was delicious, and there was a great range on the menu. I enjoyed the local smoked samon and scrambled eggs on brioche twice. I would definitely stay again. More...

Decided to sneak a quiet weekend away before Christmas and this place was just perfect. Gorgeous , old country house with a beautiful sweeping staircase, open fires and an intimate restaurant serving delicious food. As with all excellent restaurants where the food is freshly prepared, the menu was limited but we had no difficulty choosing from what was on offer. Breakfast was also amazing, continental or freshly cooked English. Wonderful. Unbelievable that this place only rates 3 stars AA. I asked Sam our wonderful host why this was and he told me that to get 4 stars you need a night porter ( really ) and to get 5 you need some sort of health spa ! PLEASE ignore the rating as this place is top class. A real secret escape . We will definitely be returning in the future. More...

Lovely country hotel in Herefordshire. Warm welcome at checkin and taken up to our room. We picked the Farquaad room which was small (we knew that was what we had booked) but well equipped. In the afternoon we sat in the bar by the cosy fire to do some work. The dinner in the evening in the restaurant was excellent. The chef is very innovative and accomplished. Very reasonable menu prices and well worth it. The wine list is relatively short and unusually has no vintages but we found good options by the glass. After dinner (again by the fire in the bar) we met Gary the owner who was very friendly. Breakfast was also excellent and freshly prepared. The only thing to note is that it is an old building so it can be a little draughty. However I would absolutely recommend this hotel and restaurant. More...

I just want to say a HUGE thank You for making our Wedding Day! I could not recommend Glewstone Court enough! Myself and Claire had our wedding reception here and I couldn’t possibly say enough to compliment their service! From the pre wedding prep and consultations with Amy to the treatment we received on the day with Sam and the rest of the staff everything was perfect. No request is too much to ask and everything runs so smoothly. The staff will make you feel like you are the only bride and groom they have ever had. We couldn't have asked for any more and the day was faultless, everything was how I imagined it and more and I couldn't get over how beautiful every room was. We have had so many people praise the food and all the staff too. Nothing was too much trouble. I could not give enough compliments. The restaurant and food were exceptional and was complemented by the luxurious dining area. The wine pairings with dinner were spot on, and I would recommend it for anyone trying the taster menu.||||The service I experienced from booking the hotel to leaving on the Sunday was fantastic. Staying nearby for a short break we were keen to celebrate a birthday and liked the look of the reviews for Glewstone Court. Having two young dogs with us, we asked Glewstone if could accommodate them which wasn't a problem, only we would be seated in the living room and not the dining room, which was completely understandable. In the end we didn't need to take the dogs into the hotel (they were clapped out!) but all the same, we sat at the table which had been made up for us in the bay window of the living room with a roaring fire crackling away in the grate. And what an evening! We were three adults dining on the tasting menu with wine paring. From our first champagne cocktails (with canapes, the squid ink macaroons are to die for) to the petit fours we could't fault the food, prepared with imagination and style and matched with superb (and generous) glasses of wine.
