My experience with equanimity psychological services has been very enlightening. For many years I did not realise I was suffering from depression. I received a thorough assessment and told I had a form of depression called dysthymia (mild persistent depression). My therapist helped me to understand why I was feeling this way in a very user friendly way. We eventually moved on to look at my way of thinking and soon realised how negative my thoughts about myself are. I realised I had been very critical of myself and after several weeks I began to develop a much nicer attitude to myself. Since changing my views, I have never felt better!
