Dunwoody HR Consulting
Malmesbury, Wiltshire, Wiltshire
I have over 20 years HR experience in all aspects of HR. I formed my HR consultancy when I moved from Central London in 2015 to Wiltshire and since moving here, I have undertaken a wide range of work. Often my clients are small and medium sized companies that don't need an HR department all the time but have the occasional need for someone either to review their policies and processes or carry out a grievance or disciplinary. Recently I have been working with a small company that didn't have up to date contracts in place and no job descriptions. I also undertake longer term work. I have worked as the project manager for a construction company overhauling their performance management process which was a great opportunity to work closer with the teams in the business and am presently helping a large organisation with a wide variety of HR activities whilst one of the Senior HR team members is out of sick leave to ensure that the service of the team doesn't drop during this period.

Dunwoody HR Consulting Q&A
What do you love most about your job?
I love being involved in lots of different types of companies and industries. Mine vary from a radio company to a farming consultancy to a construction firm to a trampoline park. All with similar and different challenges to their workforce.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Commuting to London every day is not practical for where I live now and I wanted a work life balance where I work hard but also get to see my children grow up and starting my own business has allowed me that flexibility. It has also allowed me to work with a variety of different companies that I wouldn't done would I have been permanently employed with one. I am always interested to find out how companies work and the enthusiasm and passion they have for their work, especially in the smaller types of business.
Why should our clients choose you?
I have always been told by my clients that I am approachable, super organised and offer HR in a commercially viable way. Yes, we have to stay within the law but we all have to run our businesses as well and so being inflexible in HR makes life difficult for the people it is there to help.
