Lovely, relax enjoyable place to visit. Spending time with family, visit on your own or long walk with the dog. Open all year, cafe good to enjoy lunch or break. Events come and go however some are disappoint. Today Easter hunt was good for children to hunt but the eggsurprise was a let's down for the children. A chup chup lollies. How is that Easter? If I was a child I would b expecting a small mini eggs or mini Easter bunny shape chocolate or alternatively for those who can't eat. More...

We went to see Father Christmas today and I couldn't recommend the experience enough. The lady elf who greeted us was lovely and Father Christmas was just as he should be with a 1 year old who wasn't too sure what was going on but left smiling and with a wave goodbye. Ive never seen him as good as this before. The room was beautifully decorated . Will definitely see him here again next year. More...

Spent a lovely day here with all 3 of my boys. We live 10 minutes away & decided to pop in on a whim as it wasn't a nice day so we needed somewhere outdoorsy but with an inside option should the rain come down. Can't fault the staff at all, so friendly & helpful. The lovely lady on the front desk (whose name I unfortunately didn't get) was brilliant helping to organise us somewhere safe to leave the buggy. Also must mention the lady working in the battle rooms (again I sadly missed her name) who was brilliant with my 4 year old, patiently answering all his questions & helping him to access the displays. All of the guides were tolerant of the 2 noisy boys haring around & touching everything (apparently you can touch everything & it's very interactive): they made us as parents feel relaxed & welcome & not at all like our children were in the way which is rare these days. Very knowledgeable & eager to share their knowledge. Many lovely outdoor walks & just a wonderful family day out to get some fresh air & enjoy each other's company. More...

We have walked the grounds of Delapre Abbey many times and used the old tea room. When we realised that the extensive restoration was under way we called yesterday and it was an absolute joy to see the outside of the building repaired, cleaned and open to visitors, as were the gardens at the rear which are beautifully prepared for planting. We visited the Stable Rooms and Battlefield rooms first and were delighted by the interactive exhibitions, suitable for adults and children alike. The main buildings guided you through the history of the building and it was fascinating. Staff were friendly, helpful and informative and genuinely proud of the place. We were ready for a cup of tea and the facilities were excellent with different areas to suit different needs. Our only disappointment was that there was that there is no loyalty card to get free or reduced price re-entry. We will be returning to take advantage of the guided tour and also to bring our friends, but possibly not so often as we might. More...

Excellent opening weekend event. In particular I loved the Falconry display, the jousting and the musket firing. In the abbey there were nice interactive displays for the kids. The restoration has been done to a very high standard, the abbey looks great. Entry is well priced especially for families and parking is ample. There is also a nice cafeteria to enjoy. One thing which is great is the fact that you can touch things and don’t have to stand behind a velvet rope. Hopefully the abbey will go from strength to strength in the months and years to come. Well done to Rachael Boyd and all the team for adding a great attraction to Northampton. More...
