Disclaimer: Dan’s been helping me get back in shape for around three months now; so I feel like enough time has passed to warrant a review. I assume like much of Dan’s clients, in my younger days, I was in great shape and the sound of a bleep test would make me excited, not scared! However, as the years go by, university, marriage, work, and kids, all take some level of priority, over your personal health. My once fit physique, is riddled with aches and pains.I’ve struggled with gyms, as it just doesn’t feel real enough and perhaps a little clinical. I never felt I was getting the workout I craved, but was constantly demotivated, due to how poor my physical fitness had got. I found Dan and his old-school approach and mental toughness, was what I needed; not the soft and pampered world of a Tony & Guy hairstyle PT, in a typical bricks and mortar gym.Dan took the time to understand my pain points and all our workouts since the initial session, he’s always remembered where not to apply too much pressure and build up the muscle strength. Areas of my body that were previously in pain, Dan has started the journey of building their muscle strength and the pain is decreasing. Dan does not mess around. He is a gent about everything, but he has the ability to truly recognise how hard your body can be pushed. I am very doubtful there is a trainer within our area that can develop a person, like Dan can. His military background is a fantastic grounding in developing a person’s fitness.I wanted to add that much of my training has focused around boxing. Now, I have no intention of ever entering a ring and fighting, this is just for fitness. However, the added bonus is the mental well-being that comes after each session with Dan. I started training with Dan coming from a competitive Kickboxing background. (National & Local). I had an instant connection and confidence in Dan's approach to my training. I will re start my training with Dan in the new year. And this will be on an on -going permanent basis with the aim to compete and get back to my original fitness. This is possible with Dan's commitment to and experience and expertise in regards to my specific training needs and goals. I cannot wait to restart. I can wholeheartedly recommend Dan to anyone who wants to take their training to the next level regardless of your age whether they are a total beginer or an advanced person who needs a kick start. Dan's professional background also enables him to introduce his clients to some of the best training methods available. Its all been said already in the many other 5 star reviews but Dan is the man to see for training, fitness and weight loss. No fancy machines or programmes- just old school stuff that actually WORKS. I've been boxing training with Dan for several weeks now and can see the results. Dan has the patience to explain everything as you go and to push you to where you need to be, but still make it enjoyable. After being verbally abused by a trainer at buzz gym slough - for leaving by the wrong door accidentally - It was the nail in the coffin for me and gyms. I was already growing sick and tired of overcrowded, smelly, gyms with bad attitude trainers and machines that do all the work. Dan provided the perfect tonic with his fitness plan - which are tailored to your personal need - as everyone is different.I chose to focus on boxing pad work where the focus on teaching technique is priortised unlike silly box fit classes.Yes it costs more than budget gyms but you really do get what you pay for.After a session of hitting the pads I feel like I've had a lung bursting workout more intense than any gym session and I'm walking on air as I've blasted all stress away.Highly reccomended but remember you only get out what you put in. I first starting training with Dan a few years back and I can honestly say he is one of the best personal trainers. Dan brings has wealth of knowledge when it comes to Boxing, weightlifting and nutrition. Above all Dan is an excellent motivator and brings the best out of you. I have been seeing Dan for the last 8 weeks, I go with my husband and 2 girls, 12 and 15, twice a week and we all really enjoy the sessions. We are all seeing results with the training and enjoy the realistic circuit training Dan has designed for us that we do at home... I have also been enjoying some sessions with Dan and my sister in law, we love the boxing training, it’s exhausting and we feel like we’ve worked really hard afterwards! Dan listens carefully to your requirements and so your training will exactly reflect your own personal goals. I had taken my first White Collar Fight in nearly 4 years at short notice and at 47 years of age needed to get fight ready and fight fit. I have been training now with Dan for two months now. I still have another month to complete. When I came to Dan I had seen two other Personal Trainers. However, what was offered did not meet my personal requirements. Upon meeting Dan I knew instantly that I will start training with him. When I came to Dan I had let myself go physically for a few years. Coming from a strong full combat kickboxing background with a successful fighting record and acheiving 3rd place semi finalist at the British National Championships Dan listened to me wholeheartedly. He knew I needed a strong push and a strong trainer. Thats exactly what I get with him. I'm boxing now which I love and a change technically from kickboxing for me. I love it. We have stringent cardio and circuit training that I adhere to in my own time. I would recommend Dan to anyone wanting to better themselves physically. Dan is old school with a wealth of knowledge and experience in his field of sport nutrition and fitness. My body started to respond immediately after just a week. I can honestly say for once in my life I am enjoying getting fit! I have lots of weight to lose and in the first six weeks I lost 9kg with Dan. My body shape is changing and all without starving myself. Dan explains why he is asking you to do things and will push you only as far as he knows you can go so everything remains motivational. As for the boxing he is a master, it's lots of fun, a little frustrating but really rewarding and it doesn't matter if you don't have any co-ordination, Dan works miracles. A refreshing change from the PT's I've had in the past who stick you on a machine and watch! I also had an Achilles' tendon injury and had problems finding someone who could help me, Dan knew immediately where to start and what not to do. I highly recommend his 'Old Skool' approach. More...

His 6 week bespoke food plan as well as weekly training programmes to cater for my personal needs have already drastically Improved my core strength, stamina, attitude, work ethic and I started losing weight almost instantly! Hi just thought i would give my thoughts on training with Dan, i started with Dan this Jan 2017 as i needed to get my mojo back big time and get the weight off i had gained over the last few years and get a lot fitter, being an ex forces man i needed someone to push me but at the same time not kill me as i am 56. On meeting Dan i knew straight away this could work and wow, as it, doing the boot camp i have lost nearly 2 stone already, i have put in the training and clean eating. After an initial reticence to accept the need for someone to help me train, I was driven to realise I had hopped on-board a fitness `Roller-Coaster` not being able to train at previous intensities due to current fitness levels, and not being able to attain these levels of fitness due to work/life pressures and commitments The focus here wasn’t to lose weight, but to become leaner and recover lost elements of overall fitness. After some searching I found Dan`s Old Skool Conditioning and completed an initial assessment.This in-depth assessment covered general conditioning, nutrition, body mass elements, and my availability to train. Then drawing on his vast spectrum of fitness knowledge and experience, Dan created my unique training and nutritional plan.This intensive `fastrack` program delivered results from week one, feeling strength and endurance returning to my body, and coupled with a change of focus on what I eat (as opposed to a diet!) i found myself becoming leaner, with the pleasant side effect of also dropping weight as I shed 3lb in the first 2 weeks.My training plan toggles between a wide array of boxing pad work, speed ball, sparring and associated fitness exercises to increase muscle development and endurance whilst burning fat. Having stopped any form of fitness 18 months and developed some poor eating habits, I found Dan through the web and started training with him. 7 weeks on, I've shed 18lb body fat (14.4 to 13.0), my fitness levels have massively improved and I've even developed some nifty skipping and boxing skills.A great motivator that balances individual's objectives, needs and skill levels but makes you work like you've never worked before. I am 5 weeks into Dans training regime and l cant quite believe how much l have improved. In the initial consultation Dan listened carefully and devised a plan that, in the first instance, tackled the weakness in my core muscles and my stamina. This has resulted in much stronger core muscles and a much quicker recovery time after exercise in just 5 weeks.Dan is always watching, making sure the exercises are executed correctly & safely and to be honest l have never sweated so much in my life. He is great at motivating and when you really think you cant do one more squat or clean and press, his motivation gives you the strength to find that last fragment of effort.Dans Old Skool Training programmes are for people who want results and are prepared to work hard. I've been training with Dan for 4 months now. I signed up for the 6 week bootcamp initially, in order to achieve the fat loss results I wasn't able to get on my own. Dan gave me nutrition tipps, and with 3 sessions per week of his intense fitness and boxing training I lost 1 kg of body fat in the first 3 weeks while gaining a ton of new skills. The results and the progress I am making with boxing kept me coming back for more, so I can only recommend Dan's training regime - to anyone who wants to put in the work!Dan is incredibly patient in his teaching and was able to transfer some of this patience to me. I ve just finished a 6 week boot camp with Dan .I had been to numerous circuit training classes and done regular gym work and also ran regularly too but couldn't lose weight. I was therefore unsure and apprehensive as to what Dan could offer .Dan was brilliant .He completely revised my gym work outs and changed my diet .His sessions were never boring and really intensive and enjoyable .Dan corrected routines which I had been incorrectly doing for years which other gym staff had not corrected .There are a lot of personal trainers about .If you're looking for a no nonsense fully supported trainer ,Dan is excellent and the right person for you .I have lost weight and my body shape has completely changed . Dan is a great trainer he motivates people to get the best out of themselves, I went to see him in a right state after suffering a recurrence of a Head injury, he said he could help me & in the first 3 weeks I have lost a stone, got fitter so I have more energy & feel more alive than I have done in the last Year, Dan always tells me the truth it will not happen overnight & I appreciate his honesty, I feel in safe hands, I trust this man more than anyone of the other personal trainers I have been with,Dan is as honest as the day is long, if you are slacking he will tell you, if you are putting everything in he will praise you, I never thought I could train again I went to Dan in hope rather than expectations, he has shown me with a bit of effort you can change your life, thanks Dan

I have been going to Dan for exactly 6 weeks. I have never seen my body changes so fast in 6 weeks time. I feel that i have much more energy and healthier. My muscles are developing and I could feel that I am getting stronger, faster and better in performing exercises. You are never bored when you are training with him. He surprises you each week with different exercises. Whether it is boxing, kettle bell or circuit training, he always changing things around. The stronger you are, the more difficult exercises you will get but let me tell you, it is all worth it! I would most definitely recommend him to anyone who are still looking for personal trainer!! I took up personal boxing training for three reasons: firstly as a way to stay fit; secondly as a means to avoid the boredom that comes with general exercise by combining it with learning a sport; and thirdly because I was interested in finding out what the art of boxing is all about. It's been extremely rewarding. Dan is someone who knows his boxing inside out, and is meticulous when it comes to teaching it, explaining in a straight-forward way the fundamentals of technique to a beginner like me, and also what is required if you want to improve at the sport. Some of those requirements inevitably involve working on stamina and strength, and Dan has a comprehensive set of training exercises to help you do that, none of which require the use of a gym, all of which are extremely effective. He lays out a training plan based around your own level of fitness and the kinds of exercise you might already do, tailoring it to the time you can set aside to exercise. He also provides an excellent dietary plan by looking at what you tend to eat on a regular basis and suggesting ways in which you can introduce different foods that will not only help you maintain a balanced diet, but which are also appropriate to the kind of training you're doing. His army background means he doesn't let you cut corners when training, and he will push you to test your own limits, but it's all done in a friendly and encouraging way that is highly motivating. I have been training with dan for about 10 weeks nowI was a bit worried about boxing training at first because i was so unfit and 48 years old. Dan put my mind at rest at the consultation and explained his plans for a program for me it really did workI lost around 1 stone in the first 6 weeks and have now started to tone up Dan makes every session different and enjoyable.The more effort you put in the more you will get out of it .If you dont put the effort in Dan will soon let you know anyway.Cheers Gary Lulham More...

Have been training with Dan since June and he just understood me from the word go. He got me in the right way of thinking about food and fitness. He is very good at motivating you and will say the things how they are! :) The training sessions are always very challenging and not 2 sessions are the same. He always makes it very interesting. I joined about a year ago and I've been feeling much fitter and more energetic since. The classes are dynamic and in just one hour you get an excellent work out. With circuit training on Tuesdays and rope skipping on Thursdays, followed by boxing practice on both days, you won't get bored and you get an all-round exercise programme. I have been attending Dan's boxing classes for about 2 months now and I love them. They are a whole body workout and Dan changes things up to keep it interesting. He always tries to give one on one attention to each student during the class and seems to really care about helping you improve.The classes are a good mix of genders and ability levels, so I've never felt uncomfortable going by myself to class. Where to start?! Well for me it was the normal story, I have tried gyms, running, swimming etc and just couldn't find the motivation myself and couldn't loose weight! So I met with Dan and thought let's just try it! One year on and I have never looked back! To think I can now run for an hour non stop (and I couldn't even make 10 minutes a year ago!), my core strength and muscle tone is incredible. It was (is) hard work but Dan spends each session on training the right muscles, keeps the sessions varied so I don't get bored and now I can see the results! Personal sessions are the way to go.
