Darren was recommended to us through a family friend, for internal remodelling and a replacement kitchen. From the outset we were very impressed with Darren’s straight forward approach to the project.
Having agreed a start date for 6 months ahead of the initial meeting Darren arrived exactly on time as promised. This is the first time we have undertaken such a large project, and were not sure quite what to expect but everything progressed perfectly smoothly through Darren’s impressive project management skills and building expertise. The quality of the work was excellent and specialist trades used were also to an extremely high standard.
Nearing the end of the project we were unfortunately affected by the Government lock down but again Darren made sure that all the essential work was carried out and completed the work immediately lock down rules permitted.
Darren is very personable and made the whole experience very enjoyable.

Darren and his team have just completed a renovation for us turning a large lounge, existing bedroom and office into three bedrooms with en-suites and a hallway. I am a perfectionist so it helped that Darren is too! The work was carried out to a high quality. Having used Darren last year to do some building work I had no hesitation in contacting him about having 2 bathrooms refurbished. Darren arrived when he said he would, we went through what we wanted doing with him, he came up with a couple of suggestions which made the project sound better. His quote was very fair. He has just finished the job and we could not be more pleased. Nothing was too much trouble for Darren, he answered any questions we had and his staff were first class. From start to finish Darren was professional and thorough in his approach to the building work he completed for me. He removed a load bearing wall, replaced it with an RSJ (and was thorough when it came to building control), blocked up some doorways and organised new doors in other places. I am pleased to highly recommend D Pritchard Design & Build following an outstanding job completed to a high standard, on time, tidily and with great patience. The guys worked non-stop and showed great pride in their work. My living room has been transformed with a new floor and walls - the discovery of the original fireplace and hearth and it's restoration has also added further character to our home and we look forward to enjoying the new surroundings. Darren built an en-suite, rear extension and fitted a new kitchen for us finishing summer 2018. We couldn’t be happier with the results. They were always helpful, professional , trustworthy and was always patient replying to our silly questions. We required a short ramp from the front door but was complex because of two access directions meeting at different angles. Darren designed the ramp and built it in such a way that the access points met neatly and functional . The overall visual effect was pleasing and looked like part of the house. We wanted a wheelchair access ramp built to the front of our property to replace steps, we didn't want it to spoil the front view of the house, or to look odd. Darren attended and quoted for the job quickly, and once we gave him the job he fixed a start date, which he kept to. The work was completed perfectly but the unusual thing was the tidy and clean way he left the site each night. Our previous experiences with builders has always meant a mess each night and rubbish left around. The whole site was left tidy, the garden around the ramp was put back to how it was.The ramp looks like it was always there and looks better than we ever expected, everyone comments on how lovely it looks.I highly recommend Darren and his team and if anyone wants to look at the finished work they are welcome too. Very satisfied with the extension and top to bottom renovation of the whole house.
