Eaten here a couple of times, excellent! Could do with more real ales but not too much of a problem, they have bottled beer as well.

The landlord of this pub told my 14 year old son to 'f*** off' tonight. This was not for any obvious reason other than that he was making a telephone call on the premises . When I approached the landlord on this matter, I was subjected to an unpleasant tirade and far from being apologetic he told me to 'p*** off''. This rounded off a pleasant evening with friends, where good food and friendly staff were totally undermined and spoiled. I would not give this a rating of one star, but this is the minimum allowable on this site. In reality, this would receive a rating in minus figures. So, if you don"t want to run the gauntlet of an unpredictable landlord, especially if you have children, do not visit this pub.

Perfect stop at the end of a short(ish) walk from Brighton. Great beer! Unfortunately I now have to lumber back on foot feeling beer-laden he he.

An unassuming place to eat. Superb food and friendly atmosphere. The fresh fish IS certainly fresh from nearby Newhaven. The portions are generous and the vegetables freshly cooked to perfection.
