What a wonderful place! Fantastic to wander around and the Iron Age house is particularly interesting. Loses one star for not being overly wheelchair friendly - the Nissan Huts were inaccessible and the path to the Iron Age house was pretty tricky. Overall definitely worth a visit. Ooo... if you're with a group book in advance for discounts! More...

Attended the Halloween spectacular, which was really good! Lots of activities for children! food stalls had queues for miles, shame that it wasn't more organised, was the only disappointing aspect. Children had lots of fun though!

Great day out. Reasonable entry fees. Needs to develop its stock of older housing as time and funds permit as it seemed to focus a lot on agricultural buildings at the moment

Good day out with WW1 weekend. Lovely weather..plenty to see and do.A bit of a wait for a snack lunch as the smaller snack bar did not sell sandwiches as advertised so put extra pressure on the main cafe.

Chiltern Open Air Museum is set in 45 acres of beautiful woodland and countryside and is home to over 30 rescued historic buildings. A number of the Museum’s collection of historic buildings are available for wedding receptions on a dry hire basis. Seven of the Museum’s buildings are now licensed for wedding ceremonies.

As far as we are aware, we are the only venue in England that has an Iron Age roundhouse, Victorian toll house and tin chapel licenced for a civil ceremony making our site very unique.

The Museum is welcoming to all wedding couples and is extremely flexible. We are happy to welcome traditional, non-traditional, same sex, pagan and historical wedding receptions.
