What do you love most about your job?
Most of all it comes down to being able to turn my hobby into my profession. The passion, enjoyment and Satisfaction I get from creating such a wide variety of projects is most important to the love of my job and business. I genuinely look forward to each day's work . I enjoy building things with my hands whilst using plenty of skill, precision, and creative ingenuity. I treat all my projects the same and put my heart and passion into every job so that I can stand back at the end of a project and see the finished result which is most rewarding.
Secondly is being able to work in different locations, meeting new people and customers with different projects and making sure every customer is left happy and satisfied with the end result of all our projects.
What inspired you to start your own business?
My fascination with carpentry started way back at school in DT classes. I always enjoyed creating practical objects and bringing them home and putting them to use. I loved being able to design something then bring it to life. When deciding what to do with my future my family said to me to do something I enjoy, so I went on to college to learn new skills in carpentry and joinery and found myself also working for a carpentry and construction company to further my experience.
I’ve always had an Entrepreneurial spirit and strived to be my own boss so in 2010 I took a leap of faith and registered Burgess carpentry and construction and haven’t looked back!! I still get the same buzz and satisfaction in creating things today as I did when I started.
