Always enjoy a good pint in the garden. Lovely big grass and play area for the kids, they love it. Often something going, live music, hot air balloons. Very friendly service.

I've been coming to the Black Horse Pub since I was 4, so for 29 years, and it's where my love of ballooning started. 30 years next year! I hadn't visited since the new owners had taken over but was at the pub on Friday for the balloon clubs All Fools Meet. The staff were absolutely wonderful. Really friendly and helpful and it was lovely sitting in the garden enjoying some amazing rhubarb gin while waiting for the balloons to take off. Fabulous blend of unpretentious local pub with really well-kept draught bitter...and excellent food, especially the bubble & squeak.

The chef created a *fabulous* buffet for our group, which included vegetarians, vegans, gluten free and non-veggies. The vegetarian etc. part of the buffet was amazing! Lovely starter of goats cheese, beetroot nd walnut salad. Then a beautiful roast pork Sunday lunch. Like that the take care with making the vegetables tasty rather than boiling up and serving.

I had roast beef and rhubarb and plum crumble IT WAS SOOO DELICIOUS the best roast Iv had for years. Luckily we had parked are campervan out the back I had to have a nap It was a Very large helpings. A must to exsperience

The Black Horse doesn't pretend to be anything more than a lovely pub serving excellent food in a nice atmosphere, which is just what it is. What more can you ask of anywhere?The team working there from Piers to the chefs, to the bar and serving staff are just excellent. They are helpful, knowledgeable and caring. Something a lot could learn from.We have now eaten there many times and every time it maintains its very high standard. As a pub it has great beer and the wines to complement the food are very good indeed with good prices.I could go on and on but the best thing would be for others to try this little gem.
