We had a lovely 3 night stay at Beechfield House, which is well positioned for Bath and Longleat. The room was spacious, the bed very comfortable and the food was delicious. We ate at the hotel every evening as we enjoyed our first meal so much. The staff were also very friendly and helpful. We would definitely go back. More...

Very happy with the stay at the hotel. The room and bathroom were very spacious. Bed and pillows very comfortable. Staff very friendly and helpful. We had a random issue with the fire exit making an annoying buzzing sound. They fixed within a few hours, even though it was the weekend.Restaurant was really nice and reasonably priced considering the quality of the food. More...

We were looking for a dog-friendly Country House Hotel, where we could eat well and from which we could explore the county. Beechfield House excelled.||||Our Labrador, Freya, was made very welcome and was given a fuss at each breakfast. The breakfasts were hearty and set us up for the day. Dinner was also very good. Our room was quiet and comfortable and we slept well.||||The whole ambience is as a Country House Hotel should be. Highly recommend. More...

We found this hotel on secret escapes and decided to have a weekend away (only one night staying here). ||We arrived about 4pm on a friday afternoon, parking right outside the hotel, the checkin was pleasant and straightforward and we were shown to the Willow room. ||The room had a massive bed with the usual facilities you expect from a room of this standard, complete with a shower bath in a fair sized bathroom.||The hotel is well decorated and furnished and despite the bad weather we had a walk around the grounds where the swimming pool was still warm despite the pouring rain and I'm sure would be enjoyable in the warmer months.||The staff were pleasant, talkative and helpful.||We can't fault the place and anyone after a quiet getaway should certainly consider Beechfield House. We could not fault anything about our two-night stay at Beechfield House Hotel.||||Reception was polite and efficient showing us to our room, directing us towards the bar and the restaurant, they booked several taxis for us and really were extremely helpful, even going over the itemised bill when we checked out. ||||Service at the bar was excellent and we had some items from the bar menu when we arrived – all excellent.||||Breakfasts were lovely, a small buffet for cereals and fruits, and the cooked items were perfect. Quality sausages and bacon etc….all delivered to our specific orders and swiftly.||||We had one evening meal which was outstanding, both the food and the service.||||We were in a “Comfy” room (Pear) – it certainly was comfortable. Quality bed linen, fluffy soft towels, the bed firm and pillows were perfect and we both had a good night’s sleep on each night we were there.||||We would certainly recommend the Beechfield House hotel. We've just enjoyed a 5-night family holiday at Beechfield with our two kids and our dog. ||||The hotel itself is a grand old house, but not too grand, with pleasant gardens and a lovely swimming pool. The swimming pool, in late August, was a key feature of our stay, every day we drove to a nearby attraction, then came back in the late afternoon for a couple of hours of swimming & splashing about by the pool.||||The fact that we could keep our (well behaved little) dog in our room was also a major plus (despite the unexpected additional per-diem to our hotel bill - for what?).||||The staff at the hotel were lovely, all very helpful, and looked after us and the kids well.||||Meals were a bit of a problem sometimes as the hotel was a bit short-staffed: we were unable to eat there some evenings and went to some dreadful local establishments instead. Breakfast was nice but could really have been improved by having more variety and some fresh or healthy items: fresh fruit (not preserves), greek-style yoghurt, granola, fresh wholemeal loaves etc. An option of salmon would also have been nice - this is a 4-star hotel after all. But we also all enjoyed the freshly baked French croissants and pains-au-chocolat, and came away with the weight-gain to prove it!||||Afternoon tea by the pool was also an enjoyable family treat.||||Overall we have a fabulous stay here, the location is great as it's never more than half-hour drive to any of Wiltshire's attractions or the city of Bath itself - the kids loved visiting the Hogwarts courtyard in nearby Lacock. ||||We will definitely consider coming again!! A weekend break to Bath and in my research for a place to stay I found Beechfield House. After a quick check on TA I realised that this is the place to stay. It is a 30 min drive to Bath town centre so a perfect distance for a quiet idyllic retreat. The gardens at the back are very peaceful with a lovely patio and fountain. There is an outdoor swimming pool too. I do recommend the afternoon tea which is very delicious and we did enjoy this outside. The staff are very friendly and attentive. I organised a private dinner at the hotel and the planning and attention to detail was second to none. The grounds are very peaceful and a great pleasure to relax in away from the busy Bath town centre. I do recommend this place and we will definitely be going back! More...
