Complete at least one upgrade from upgrades recommended in the report using renovation contractors of your choice; the initial report also allows you to apply for a $40,000 interest free government loan payable over 10 years to assist you where the grants may not be enough. Schedule with a REA at GIEC for a post upgrades energy audit; at this point we will also submit your grants application; we handle everything for you from start to finish. Get your rebate cheque of up to $10,000 depending on the upgrades you made, plus an additional $600 towards your payment for the EnerGuide evaluation by the REA. This program is brought to you by the Government of Canada with the goal to get us to net-zero as a nation by 2050. To get there, first we must each lower our carbon footprint before engaging other green initiatives anywhere on the planet, to cancel out what we will inevitably continue to put out as part of day to day living. No; our services are conducted on site a client's home. On average, the pre-renovation audit lasts 2 hours for us to do a thorough job and the post renovation audit lasts about 1 hour. We then proceed to our office to complete the assessment and the report which we provide the customer.
All of us at GIEC, we are triple vaccinated; we also wear masks and we carry sanitizers. The health of our customers is as important to us as ours. This is why outside of energy auditing, we advise clients in our reports if we detect asbestos during the course of our job; because asbestos causes mesothelioma. Prior to 1990, insulation in Canada contained vermiculite which has been known to have asbestos.
