I’ve been wanting to come out to the beach and do Weapon Brand’s Boxing on the Beach for quite some time. So glad I finally did. I had such a great time. Perfect place to do it and Brian is an excellent instructor. Broke down the moves and made it super easy to keep up with the boxing. If you are looking for something new to try or have had the slightest inclination to try boxing or some kind of self defense session, Weapon Brand is your go to. I will definitely be back. I attended their free class for the LGBTQ+ community and this event was invaluable! During these times where violence and discrimination against our community are at an all time high (at least in my lifetime), I am so grateful I was able to attend this. I walked into that room someone who has never felt confident in my physical ability to defend myself. And I walked out having a plan and practice of how I can protect myself from a potential attacker. I thought I didn’t need the practice, but it showed me that thinking about it and doing it are very different. And not only that, they taught us to trust our gut instinct, which is the opposite of what most of us are raised to do. I now feel confident in my ability to identify and avoid a potential attack before it becomes a reality. And if it does become reality I trust myself now to defend myself. My partner has a very different experience in life. They are someone who was raised being taught how to fight. This class validated their experiences of trusting their gut and being vigilant. So even someone who didn’t necessarily learn anything new, still found a lot of value in this and is looking forward to part two. Thank you so much for bringing this to our community! I used weapon brand for my girl empowerment summer camp. The students and their parents learned so much about self defense, general safety, and most of all, feeling confident in any situation! The trainers were kind, worked well with all ages, and were extremely skilled and knowledgeable. We were all comfortable very quickly and had fun!
