We started taking our puppy to daycare when our daughter was in a bad car accident . We were at the hospital everyday . Local bark was so kind to us and super flexible. Our doggie Mabel learned how to socialize with other dogs . We also paid for some training and they taught her to recall and stay . Local bark made our lives easier . First time boarding our little guy. He thought it was the vet at first so he was super nervous. When we came and got him, he was super happy! I know he had a blast here. I have mixed feelings about this place. We've brought our dog here a couple of times for day care and boarding. Orientation/behavioral test was very convenient (you just make an appointment and drop your pup off for the day) It's very easy to make reservations through the portal. However, It seems like they're constantly having staffing issues and at max capacity. Often times we were told the dogs didn't have pool time due to staffing? Anywho, my dog absolutely loves it here but every time we pick him up, he smells god awful!. Today was the worst (wet, pee/poo on his paws, belly & tail). All of my experiences with the local bark have been great. I initially did an online assessment and was contacted very quick. I got in for a consultation and Ivonne helped figure the best plan. I have done a couple private sessions and will be doing the boarding program. The trainer is very helpful and makes sure we understand everything being done. I would definitely recommend them! Unfortunately for all who use/used The Local Bark, their services are no longer reliable. Â It began with our dog coming home, back-to-back visits, first with kennel cough, then conjunctivitis (goopy eyes). Â The third event should have been the last, but another case of kennel cough occurred, and to their credit, was reported via email. Â We gave The Local Bark the benefit of the doubt. Â But as we learn more about employee turnover; lack of employee screening & training; issues with cleaning (including the dog pool); and lack of owner involvement, we have moved on. Gracie loves The Local Bark and quite frankly she is her happiest on days she goes there. My only suggestion would be if a client purchases a 10 pack of daycare passes they shouldn’t be waitlisted for daycare reservations. We spent $275 and now have to pay another $60 to take her elsewhere because there is no room for her. More...
