The Dog Wizard Sarasota

I can’t recommend The Dog Wizard enough! The entire team is super amazing!! We started off with private lessons with Corrie for our puppy, Samara, shortly after we got her. We needed help navigating all the basics of puppy training as new puppy owners. Corrie is so awesome and knowledgeable and taught us all the ins and outs and gave us a great foundation to keep building on. As our puppy reached the 6 month mark we needed a little more help with her confidence, impulse control and leash manners so we signed up for the 10 day ecollar overlay with Leanna. She sent pictures and videos of all the things they did throughout the 10 days and Leanna worked some magic and Samara came back a different dog! She did an amazing job with Samara and training us too! Anytime we have had any questions or concerns Leanna had answers and tips on what to do. The dog wizard Sarasota has been the saving grace for my sweet Murphy and my sanity. Leanna did an absolutely amazing job with Murphy. When we walked into their office on drop off morning Murphy was all over the place jumping and pulling at the leash, wanting to jump on people, pushing through doors she was embarrassing and I was afraid to let her get near people because she’s a 70lb lab and even though she means no harm she also don’t know how big she is. She has done a complete turn around and I can now walk her loose leash and off leash, she comes, sits, stays, goes to place and has incredible manners, most important she doesn’t jump unless asked to do so. They train with shock collars and fear . They do not offer any assistance after you pay your thousands of dollars . The worst experience for my dog . After finding our fur child, a black roan German Shorthaired Pointer, we knew we had to start looking at puppy classes and dog daycare to help us get through he puppy stages and shape him into a dog that does not have to live a life on a lead, be cooped up in the house all the time or have behavior issues. On a whim we stopped by The Dog Wizard on SR-64 and spoke with Arvind. He told us to come in on a Saturday and partake in a puppy class to see if we enjoyed the experience. We obliged. Well here we are, 6 months of puppy class, another 10 days for e-collar overlay and several sporadic days of dog daycare while we were at work and we cannot be any happier! Our pup Kodak loves coming here to say the least and the trainers and other employees literally remember every dogs name and treat them exceptionally well - as one of their own. To us that says a lot when he is willing to leave us so easily to spend the day at "school". The trainers are top notch - Tyana, Corrie and Leanna are some of the greatest people we've met and are always excited to see Kodak and vice versa. They take the time to describe what and how to correct behaviors, training techniques and alternatives to those if they don't work for your pet. Arvind is also very down to earth and is great to chat with before and after class (even when we randomly stopped by to ask a training questions). I just cannot say enough positive things about the Team at The Dog Wizard but I can say we will 100% be bringing our next addition to the family to them. Also, remember that 90%+ of the training happens at home so the techniques you learn from class need to be followed outside of class and on a consistent basis. They provide the tools, resources and knowledge to help you shape your fur baby into what you want them to ultimately be. Your participation and perseverance is just as important as your pets. My dog, Cleetus, & I have had an amazing experience working with the Dog Wizard SRQ. The staff is friendly, funny, knowledgeable, welcoming, etc. not only will they help your dog be the best he/she can be, but they will help you become the best trainer you can be for your dog. Cleetus graduated from the beginners training (must be 6 months old or younger) as an A+ student. Cleetus is currently boarding with them for 10 days for e collar training. The staff has gone out of their way to send me updates, pictures, & videos during his stay. You know how you can tell if your dog is happy or not from pictures/videos? Well Cleetus is having a blast! I can’t say thank you enough. I highly recommend that you & your dog train here. Group Support classes are offered every Saturday AM to further training & are completely free to existing customers. In addition to all of the above, the prices are excellent & very fair considering the amount of hard work the trainers put in. You will not be disappointed. A special thank you to trainers: Leanna, Joyce, & Tyanna for everything you have done! I cannot remember her name, but there is one more trainer who ran the Saturday group classes for the beginners program & she does an amazing job. Our Aussiedoodle, Jesse just finished the Dog Wizard 14 day Jump Start program in Sarasota. Her main challenges were excitability and anxiety. We needed help! She was very reactive to other dogs on walks and pulling the entire time on leash. When friends would come to our home she couldn’t settle down, jumping on them, out of control. It wasn’t easy to let go of our one year old Jesse for two weeks! We dropped her off hopeful for a much improved pup! Jesse’s trainer Corrie was a rock star trainer. She was knowledgeable, happy, clearly had a love for animals, positive, and professional. Her communication was top notch! We could call or text her directly at any time. As well she posted videos and photos of Jesse on their Dog Wizard Facebook page. Those were fun to see! It was clear that Jesse enjoyed being trained at the Dog Wizard! When we visited her after week one, we could see the love Jesse had for Corrie and being at the facility. She was happy and having fun, her tail wagging the entire time! Fast forward two weeks.... we have a new dog! Jesse heels in a walk, understands commands and acts on them when prompted, and most importantly has learned how to calm herself. The place command is a powerful tool when we see Jesse amp up in play or when visitors come by. Now we have begun attending the Saturday group training sessions to continue on the right track. I can't speak for their training skills because I never got that far. I filled out an inquiry online and someone reached out via text rather fast to set up a phone consultation. We set a time 4 days in advance to have a consultation and they completely blew me off. No phone call, no text to reschedule. I tried to follow up and never even got a response. They are unprofessional and unreliable. I would be weary of spending 100s of dollars on a company with this business practice. More...

I happened to find the Sarasota dog wizard by chance on the Internet when I was looking for training programs for my dog Wilson. I was completely desperate because my dogs behaviors were so out of control I didn’t know what I was doing as an owner to make him act so aggressively. I wasn’t able to have friends over to my apartment and I couldn’t even go on walks without my dog trying to lunge, bark, and nip at other dogs and people. I made the call and decided to sign my dog up for the two-week board and train program. This was one of the best decisions I could have made. I was informed that Pam was going to be the trainer assigned to Wilson and she has completely transformed my dog for the better. Not only did she set a solid foundation for Wilson but she also helped me as an owner on how to implement everything she had taught Wilson into my home. Pam was absolutely amazing and I cannot thank her enough for everything she has done. I also wanted to add that they have a Facebook page where the trainers post daily videos of your dog so you can keep up with what your dog is doing during the training program. Dobby has officially graduated his 14 day board and train program. Dobby came into our life as a foster, then we adopted him from the local shelter. He has an amazing disposition but carried fears, lack of confidence mixed with no socialization. The Dog Wizard Sarasota had a level of compassion, attention to detail, professionalism and frankly a mindset of doing right throughout our entire experience. They not only did right by Dobby but they did right by us. We needed training too! To see the true love and happiness Dobby now has while following the simplest of obedience commands is amazing. The training staff made sure to keep in touch throughout the entire training process. If you are looking for a business that truly does things right by the dog and human, these professionals far exceeded my expectations and have paved a foundation for an amazing future for us.
