Shaolin Martial Arts Center

The Sifu (owner/primary instructor) of Shaolin Martial Arts teaches an afterschool elective at the local elementary school.  That is where the kids first experienced Sifu Dajani.  After our kids enjoyed some of the basics, we decided to enroll them in the school, and did the annual rate.  The kids love Sifu, he has the right amount of discipline and still instills fun to keep the kids' interest. The kids have been going for almost 2years now, and have graduated to doing cool moves with the staff! And of course breaking boards, although challenging at first for little ones, is always fun once you get the hang of it. I went to this school cold turkey because it's located just one block away from my house. I wanted to enroll my 4yo daughter. I met 2 instructors there and found out that the kiddos will be taught by a young man, who was as positive as his teaching.He taught the kids discipline without reprimanding. He told the kids the history of Shaolin Kungfu without boasting and made it sound interesting (for kids' level). He also speaks clear and correct Cantonese despite his ethnic background not being a Chinese person (I'm half Chinese). He taught the kids moves and names of techniques with patience and consistency.The classes held for the kids are basically spot on ! Age-appropriate, by competent, passionate, polite, discipline, and experienced instructor.I highly highly recommended ANY KIDS to join the classes here. More...

I speak from experience when I say the instructors are topnotch. They have taught me ever since I was a kid. Being an adult now, it amazes me how deep their knowledge runs.  If you're looking to learn something new and exciting and get in shape while doing it, I suggest checking out Shaolin Martial Arts Center. This is a GREAT school!!The instructors are total professionals who know kung fu inside and out.  They have been practicing for over 20 years! !  The one thing I really like is that they give their full attention to each student and are patient even if the student doesn't grasp the concepts.The kung fu itself is awesome!!  You can do a wide variety of things from forms, weapons, grappling, sparring, push hands...very well rounded style and challenges you to be the best.Highly recommended since this is the only kung fu school I know of in Marin County with such a rich history to the past.GO CHECK IT OUT!! Just awesome!   I brought my 4-1/2 year old son to the studio for the Wednesday kids class and was very impressed by the patience and professionalism of the instructor!  It was my son's first class and he was a bit intimidated.  The instructor allowed my son to warm up to things at his own pace.  He even took time after class was done to talk and work with my son, showing him some moves and establishing a rapport.  During the kids class I noticed how the children have great respect for the instructor and follow instructions as they are told.  The instructor also knows how to talk to the kids so that they feel confident and are enjoying themselves.  I will definitely continue to bring my son to this class!
