This city-dwelling bridal couple loved James and his staff, and our guests did, too! Rhinecliff catered our recent Catskills wedding, and the food was incredible! We knew it would be - our sampling and tasting experiences were divine, and the food was scrumptious both times. Our guests especially loved the locally sourced Charcuterie Table (it was such a big hit, they devoured the ENTIRE THING), and the passed hor dourves. Just like Vince Vaughn stated in Wedding Crashers, you must have crab cakes at a wedding and theirs were fantastic. Dinner was great, too! The short rib was the standout winner among the selections but all were good. Also, the goat cheese and beet salad was amazing; not your standard wedding salad. As a bride and groom, it was a relief to work with a chef who had SO MANY DELICIOUS OPTIONS to choose from, even for our vegan/vegetarian guests. And can’t forget the desserts. Great selection of bite sized desserts. The gluten-free, salted caramel brownies are a can’t-miss. If you’re looking for New York City quality dining in Hudson Valley or beyond, look no further. It has been a pleasure working with James and the whole Rhinecliff staff for rhinecliff catering (outside of the rhinecliff hotel)! From start to finish, they made my wedding dreams come true! They were able to come into my very tight budget, and offer up reasonable suggestions by laying out pros/cons. Both tastings were incredible and we even stayed one night at the hotel for our initial tasting! They also were amazing the day-of, making sure everyone had what they needed, when they needed it. Special shout out to the staff for always bringing me water with my beer, and for getting us appetizers while we're waiting to come in. Can't say enough good things. Rhinecliff is an amazing caterer! We used them for our black tie wedding in Cazenovia, NY, as they were willing to make the trip. The food and service did not disappoint! We could not be happier with our choice as everything was up to the high standard that we expected. We just had our wedding catering tasting yesterday and can not say enough good things about James and his team. The food was delicious, with gorgeous presentation, and even more than what we had asked for! So many wonderful options to choose from... we have our jobs cut out for us now as we try and narrow down our menu! One of our favorites was the market plate appetizer featuring so many yummy nibbles I can't even begin to name them all! The staff was very friendly, knowledgeable, and professional (in attire and behavior). The Rhinecliff Hotel is located in a beautiful spot next to the Hudson River, with river views and sleek, modern hotel rooms.
The food is top-notch. We received many compliments about our wedding menu from our guests. They also have generous policy re: full bar service.
The staff was accommodating from start to finish. They were patient with our questions and changes. They were organized and prepared on the day of our wedding.
This is a stylish river setting perfect for a small to medium-sized wedding. I highly recommend The Rhinecliff.

Amy and her team were absolutely amazing! From the first moment we met Amy for a tour of the Rhinecliff I knew I'd we'd have a great experience having our wedding there. Super responsive, helpful and accommodating. The Rhinecliff did a beautiful job. Before booking, after reading reviews, i knew that responsiveness might be an issue but i was totally okay with that. I live locally, so when i needed to come into contact with them, I would simply stop by the hotel. It's a small boutique hotel, and they really do make sure to give whatever event they are having that day or guests that are staying there 110%. Everything went great on our wedding day from start to finish, and food was delicious, all of guests commented on it. And the bridal suite, AMAZING!! Soooo beautiful!!! There was one little mishap the next morning when we went to pick up our anniversary cake from them, but it was easily rectified. More...

This review is long overdue! We got married in October 2016 and could not have been happier with our decision to go with The Rhinecliff to cater our wedding. We were married at The Senate Garage in Kingston, NY which was a brand new "blank space" venue, and James and his staff made sure that every detail of the day was taken care of. We planned our wedding from FL and they made sure to accommodate our schedule for tastings around our travel plans up to NY. I was skeptical and had asked James if I needed an event coordinator, as another friend recently was married at a similar "blank space" location and highly recommended I get one to coordinate the deliveries and day of details. James reassured us we would not need one and he was 100% right, you do not need an event coordinator with James, he took care of EVERYTHING for us including helping to facilitate delivery of the rentals, schedule of events, and helped to keep everyone on the time schedule. Due to an incident at the venue which delayed our ceremony by 30 minutes, James and his staff were gracious enough to extend their services an extra half hour to ensure that we didn't feel rushed and were able to enjoy every minute of our wedding. James and his staff are very professional and definitely know what they are doing! A lot of our guests were from NYC and are serious "foodies" and they were raving about how delicious the food was and how they never had such a tasty meal at a wedding before. We cannot say enough amazing things about Rhinecliff's catering! First and foremost, the food is delicious. We decided upon family-style and everything on the menu was incredible.
Two tastings prior to your big day is included, so you have plenty of time to give James ides and what you are thinking, taste everything and then tweak the menu some more - they are so accommodating. They also came with ALL the furniture which really helped with our budget. And speaking of budget, James was so respectful and did everything within his power to stay within our budget - which he did. And everything was still as tasteful and incredible without any superfluous costs. (Thank you so much, James!!!)
Rhinecliff worked our entire wedding weekend - rehearsal dinner, wedding, day-after brunch - and the staff was friendly, funny, knowledgeable and accountable for everything we asked of them. Whether it was to get more booze for our a-bit-too-rowdy rehearsal dinner, making sure all of the bride's and groom's needs were met on the wedding day and for helping us out with a few surprises throughout the weekend (and extra vendor meal here, an extra cake-cutting there) - Rhinecliff never said "no" and never stopped smiling!!
James is sometimes hard to get a hold of, but if he is not around, it is because he is giving his 100% to another lucky couple to have his expertise and he will always get back to you eventually! You won't be upset about this when it is your turn to receive his full and undivided attention :)
Thank you so much, James and all of his staff! Our wedding weekend went off without a hitch and we have so much of that to owe to you.

Oh my goodness. The Rhinecliff is absolutely beautiful. As soon as my husband and I found it we knew it was the perfect place for our wedding. The staff was amazing and the owner James was so kind to show us the entire hotel and answer every question we had. We planned our wedding from out of state so there was a lot of communication through email, phone calls and quick trips to New York. Every time we visited The Rhinecliff Nicole, the event coordinator, was able to meet with us, she responded quickly to all of our questions, which we had a lot of. The day of the wedding my husband and I had nothing to worry about Nicole coordinated everything and she made everything PERFECT! Throughout the night Nicole was there making sure we were happy. I could not have wished for a better wedding and I owe so much of that to the Rhinecliff. Our stay at the Rhinecliff was so amazing it was hard to leave, it felt like a home away from home. More...

We are so glad we had our wedding at the Rhinecliff! The team there is fantastic - they're not always great at getting back to you on the phone, but that's because they're giving 112% to their in person meetings and the big events! The coordination is wonderful - everyone you speak to knows your day fully, and on the day of, they have someone making sure everything goes perfectly and gets set up just right. The meal was served family style, which everyone loved - it was so elegant, yet was itself a social activity for everyone to enjoy. People loved it! I felt so taken care of! Leading up tot he day, they were so helpful and so flexible so that our day was very personalized. That's not even to mention the amazing food, the gorgeous rehearsal dinner, the amazing views, the incredible spaces for the ceremony and reception, the amazing after-party, and the rooms at the hotel!
