Gym was clean. It looked safe for young children. The instructor was calm and thoughtful with his teaching. He really appeared to cater to your ability. I’m still new to jujitsu and I felt that the learning atmosphere here was good for beginners. The other people in the gym training also appeared to have a strong sense of humility, so no maniacs looking to beat people up. I recommend this gym. Hurry and sign up now before the gym gets too big and you miss out on the family type atmosphere that currently exists because sooner or later the word will get out about this gym and you’ll be playing catch up. I've been training here for about a month, and it's been very rewarding. Of course, it's Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, so it's very strenuous, but I always leave with a "good" soreness. Andy's teaching style creates an atmosphere of healthy competition, and everyone is working to make each other better. Great place to learn, and very inviting. Harrisonburg finally has a true bjj academy for those fascinated with the art. The instruction is intense and detailed, while accommodating to an individual’s skill level. Highly recommended
