I wholeheartedly recommend pets are family and Theresa! Theresa has been so fantastic with our elderly cat and our crazy flexible schedule. Have used her for over a year now, and she has always been super professional, kind, and extremely responsive. Pets Are Family is very well run as well. We recently had a family emergency, which had us leaving town with less than 24 hours notice. PAF not only accommodated us, but when we had to change our plans from one week to two weeks and finally to three weeks out of town, they accommodated every change with no issues. We could not have dealt with our emergency without them! PAF sends daily reports with pictures and details, so that you never have to worry about how your pets are doing. They will even get packages from your porch, water your plants, or get your mail if you need them to. What do you love most about your job?
What I love most is interacting with my clients and building a strong bond and relationship with each individual dog. They're so excited to see me at every visit because they feel safe and secure with me. Providing my clients with that piece of mind their pup is cared for by a professional, reliable, trustworthy company is truly a blessing!
What inspired you to start your own business?
I was inspired to start my own business because I wanted to provide a level of care that was above and beyond what people are typically expecting. After honing my skills as an employee of a local pet care company, I would receive complements frequently about the quality of photographs I take, the high level of consistency and communication I provide, and how much their animals love me (and the humans too!). I knew then this was a calling I needed to answer.

I have a very small staff and we are in constant and direct communications with our clients and offer a variety of services tailoring to their unique needs. Reserving services with us means you are guaranteed availability at the time you need, real-time communication via an online/ mobile app services that tracks dog walks and visits by GPS. You can trust that your pet is being treated like family every time they are in our care.

What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
To keep clients safe from Covid-19, we respect the choices of our clients to wear masks, using certain pet-safe cleaning products, and sanitize surfaces after each visit. We are happy to remove shoes and/or wear shoe covers provided by the client whenever requested.
Daily Dog Walks
Make sure your pup gets some much deserved attention and exercise while you’re at work. Beyond meeting physical needs, walks and “sniffaris” support a dog’s mental stimulation and health.
Currently accepting new regular monthly dog-walking clients in the following zip codes: 22315, 22310, 22314, and 22306.
Bed and Breakfast Service
Option 1: Two hour evening visit (7-9pm, 7:30-9:30, or 8-10pm) plus an additional morning 60 minute visit
Option 2: One hour evening visit (8-9pm or 8:30-9:30pm) plus an additional morning 30 minute visit.
Midday visits can be added as a vacation care total package.
Overnight Care
Perfect for pets who do best at their home base and multi-pet homes.
Theresa stays at your home for 12 continuous hours and cares for your furry family members- includes full attention, play, evening and morning walks and potty breaks, feedings, water, medication administration when required, basic home care needs such as mail pick up, watering flowers and plants.
Boarding
Your furry family member is lovingly welcomed into Theresa’s home- includes 4 daily walks, playtime, feeding and continuous access to water, and medication administration when required. This is not 24 hour continuous care. Theresa must be able to visit clients for periods of the day. Dogs accepted for boarding must not be destructive and able to safely co-exist with other dogs when necessary.
**Exclusive board option exists to ensure a dog is boarded without any additional dogs.
***Boarding clients may live outside of our regular service area.
Client provides crate (when applicable), food, approved treats and toys, and medications for the duration of the stay. Special bed/ blankets are always welcome.
Drop off and Pick up is the client’s responsibility. Pet Taxi can be arranged when needed.
Earliest drop off time: 7am | Latest Pickup time: 9pm
