Stopped in for a burger and a craft brew IPA. Food and beer were great. Seems like a locals place, dimly lit, pool tables, friendly service.
Probably really rocks on Sat. night. I saw an "older" crowd and lots of bikers. Has outside seating and a big parking lot.

I'd never heard of the Northside Bar & Grill before but recently purchased a coupon on ""do local deals""...i was there tonight with a friend, had a 14 hands chardonnay and a cheeseburger and it was wonderful. Hi there, I am Blues-guitarist Montreville Blakely with Natalie Merchant and Friends/(2006-7)... I had played two weeks ago here at North Side bar and grill. Scott Foxx did tell me that my guitar got loud above the rest/ and I apologize for that, although we had a great time revisiting the later 60's and 70's Blues and Rock. From an acoustic view, I would have to say that a bigger crowd makes the acoustics better absorbed. With an untrained ear one might write a review without that understanding of the science of sound waves/""rarefraction compression ratio systems magniflux"". With that said, I believe that Scott Foxx and the house band members complete Bend, Oregon's music circle as an exclusive cross genre' in: R&B, BLUES, 60's and 70's ROCK!!! ""GREAT JOB"" guys and gals. My consensus on the acoustic dynamics at North Side would be a live but very pleasant atmosphere of people; the more the marrier concerning sound absorption. Monitor wedges for the musicians would be a good idea on stage for the musicians to hear each other in a balanced way, along with acoustic wall absorption baffles easy to make and install: with a 1 1/2 inch relief/ free air dielectric clearance from the wall in a composition acoustic sound deadening board in a frame of 2""x2"" by 4' square frames completed with with a sack cloth face for airbrushing your favorite designs and memories. In this way the back of the baffles would block bass boom, and the front of the baffle would absorb high frequencies in kind, thus creating a warm but live atmosphere. This in turn would make this club stand out as a leader of Open Mic' Nights and Jams. The club itself is unique in location as not to worry on noise db limitations inside downtown environments. I give this club a four star rating with one star to earn after completing my suggestions. I am school trained about my mention and appeal in kind to improve by critiquing in a suggestive tone. All to often people review without any thought of concern of their verbal impact. We all have the right to shout out/ Hey, but please be grateful we live in a free country where we should all get along little doggies. This is my opinion with an educated backing... I have been around awhile with concert past as well as many moons of small stage performances. I love you guys, see you all tonight at Scott Foxx's- Open Mike More...
