This place is great. My daughter loves the kid classes. They have great classes for kids and adults. They are family friendly and woman friendly and even had a women only self defense class last weekend. They stand by their values and treat everyone with respect and kindness. My 6year old son has been training at Emerge Jiu Jitsu for over 6months now and I was so impressed by the art and the gentle, genuine instruction and consistent encouragement here that I decided to start training along side my son as well as in the adult classes. I couldn't be more happy with Don and his family and the way they have helped my son grow in discipline, mental and physical health, and self esteem. Amazing gym, with great coaches and friendly people all around. Try it out, you will want to join.I am 48yo, very overweight and not athletic at all. I wanted to do something other than the traditional go to the gym and lift weights or run on the treadmill. I was looking for a friendly (not fight club) place where they would work with me at my pace. Emerge turned out to be the right place. The coaches are challenging and encouraging, but help you move at a safe pace. More than that, the attitude of everyone at the gym reflects the coaches. Helpful, encouraging and working together. Don is the best coach. He KNOWS his stuff... and he’s able to TEACH it. The most patient man— kind, completely approachable. .. and still able to wrangle even the crazy little ones, and build these complex martial arts skills.More importantly... my daughters LOVE this sport. Not sure where to start, I have done Jiu Jitsu on and off for 2 years now. Taking a break from it was a big mistake, and the race to find a new Jiu Jitsu home was a long one. When I tried Emerge, I knew it would be a place I'd anchor in. It is another family for me. Coach Don and his family are all around great human beings and I cant say enough great things about them. Its a safe, clean atmosphere that is welcoming which is rare at most gyms. Coach Don is a great, patient instructor whose advice is tangible. Coach Jeff has been an outstanding instructor both on and off the mat.Emerge is a church for me, it humbles the ego and really helps with the battles and struggles life brings.
