I recently had the pleasure of having Eliza Rush (and band) perform at my wife’s surprise 60th birthday party at a pavilion behind our house. I must say, they were absolutely fantastic! Their sound quality was top-notch, making it feel like we had our private concert right in our backyard. What truly stood out was their professionalism. They arrived on time, set up efficiently, and engaged with the guests in a friendly and courteous manner. It felt as if they were part of the celebration, which added a personal touch to the performance. Eliza developed a playlist to match the crowd’s vibe, ensuring everyone had a great time. Beyond the beautiful, original, and often inspirational music Eliza has written-- when it comes to in-house performance she is also on-time, easy to work with, solves problems easily, and is just a joy to add to any party. We had Eliza and her band come to a retreat we were having at a beach house for my corporate team-- and the team loved her-- she stayed late to sign CDs, it was memorable for everyone. Eliza Rush and band did not disappoint. Her technicality and command of instruments and vocals shine through, while she's also able to run the gamut from country to folk and blues and get grungy. Much of the concert was originals of her own, with hauntingly beautiful lyrics and performed to perfection. The songs evoke emotions and look deep into the core of relationships, with brutal honesty. I was getting goosebumps on that hot summer night. Rush accompanies herself on guitar and piano, along with other members of her band. The spontaneous quips from the drummer and guitarist, kept us laughing as well. Each song left us wanting more from this band that both tells story and has such musicianship. When it came to the end the audience cried for " smore", because we had roasted smores at intermission over the fire pits, as is the tradition at our venue. More...

When I first met Eliza, she seemed quiet and observant of the room. It was an open mic, and she asked to borrow my music stand. I was curious what kind of tunes she would perform. When she opened her mouth to sing, the notes she was hitting were knocked out of the park! We talked after her performance, and became quick friends. She found out I am a vocal coach, and I found out she was a very well trained and accomplished musician. She asked me to help find her voice...the true, powerful representation of her music. She became my voice student, and we realized her potential quickly, eventually shining with a renewed confidence! She recently recorded and released a cd of her original compositions. I'm extremely proud of her and her accomplishments. Her voice has so much texture, lift and is truly hers. Her original songs are beautifully written from her tender perspective. As a musician, working for yourself is the way to go!
