My daughter has been participating in taekwondo for about 1 year. We were looking for an activity for her to do a few times a week to burn off some energy and exercise, little did we know how much she would benefit from Draco Academy. Since enrolling in their junior dragons program her fitness level has improved (balance, agility, speed), she has gained confidence, self discipline and her ability to focus both at home and school has improved. Draco Academy provides a great foundation for multiple facets in life for children, adolescents and adults. I highly recommend this facility if you are looking for a martial arts program. More...

My 11 year old son has been a student at the Draco Martial Arts Academy for almost a year and he loves it. At the school he's been taught much more than martial arts. He has learned about team work, good sportsmanship, honor, respect, integrity and self confidence. The Draco Academy is a wonderful environment for any child or adult. It is evident that the entire staff really enjoys what they do and watching how the children respond to them is amazing! The Draco Academy is a fun, friendly and enriching place for kids to be active. More...

I chose Draco because they have great facilities and instructors. I've stayed there because I've made great friends and have progressed rapidly in my training. The instructors have met me where I'm at in my training and pushed me to achieve more. They make the sport fun and challenging. I've even quit smoking in part due to the support that I've received from Draco. Good people, great facilities, excellent training, and nice friends - what more can you ask for from a martial arts gym? More...

I HIGHLY recommend Draco Academy! My 9 year old grandson has become much more diciplined and dedicated to his studies and household chores. His level of confidence has also increased. Each instructor is special in his or her own way...Miss Elizabeth, who I call the mom of all instructors, makes sure the students stay in line; as far As dicipline. Mr. Nick is the instructor with many faces; he makes sure the students see his facial expressions and he quickly corrects their forms. Mr. Lamar is the quiet storm; he stands back and watch silently, but quickly moves in to correct mistakes. Master Rich is positively stern; He makes sure every student is where they need to be in order to make the next belt, and he makes sure no one is left behind. I give Draco Academy five stars! They are extremely AWESOME!!! More...

Prior to attending Draco Academy my grandson was becoming a couch potato (like his grampa), video game addict and he was becoming very materialistic -- influences by all the commercials kids are bombarded with these days. His Tae Kwon Do classes at Draco have changed his life dramatically. First off, it has provided him with positive goals that he is focused on attaining. He has already achieved the rank of blue belt in only 6 months of attending. He is always striving for that next tape on his belt and that next belt level instead of striving for buying the next new video game that comes out. He is being taught the importance of respect for his elders, his peers and most importantly himself. He is learning healthy habits and healthy attitudes. I cannot say enough about this program. The staff is kind and supportive while at the same time being strict and consistent with their message of self discipline. And not only that -- it is a place that we all look forward to attending. My grandson would go every day if he could! Not only that we all feel like we have joined a community. The family picnic this summer was such a fun time to get to know the other families and have a great time together. More...

I am a current student of the Draco Academy franchise and i have been for a while. while attending i have gained mental confidence, physical health improvement, as well as becoming more opened minded after taking up both Taekwondo and Hapkido and through them I have been taught many things: such as how to effectively defend my self in variable situations including 1on 1/more, disarming/utilizing(if need be) a multitude of weaponry (or any other foreign object) that may appear to be problematic, and how to manipulate a variety of methods for defensive combat. While there i have seen many people come and gone but i have still developed bonds with many individuals that i have come to see as "family" with teachers, and students/parents alike. Also their prices is quite fair considering the amount of material that is taught, even the 1 on 1 sessions that they offer rather it be during class times or not they always find time to help each individual student who needs or just wants it. 3 years ago we decided to try Draco academy for our oldest son. He was feeling discouraged participating in team sports, didn't have much of an attention span, and was lacking in self confidence. We knew martial arts taught discipline, but we really didn't know much else. Our son began his classes at Draco and we quickly started seeing improvement in all the areas we were concerned about. Martial Arts allowed our son to succeed at his own pace, growing his self esteem and giving him incentive to keep wanting to push himself more and more.3 years later our son is an A student, participates in multiple team sports and still continues his training at Draco Academy, Dyer. Our younger son has also now started taking classes as well. Draco Academy provides a welcoming atmosphere with instructors who truly care about the students and want to see them succeed and do everything in their power to help them reach their goals. We would highly recommend Draco Academy. More...

Our 8 year old son started at Draco this past spring. We were having a hard time with his focusing and following directions at school and home. He needed something that helped him believe in himself and feel accomplished. Within a month his teacher noticed that he was doing better in school staying on task. He loves Karate and works hard to earn his next belt. The instructors teach respect for both in class and at home. We are thrilled with our experience! More...

I am THOROUGHLY impressed with the way that Ken interacts with the kids in Dyer. Ken is very dedicated to these kids, and I feel that he genuinely wants to see each and every child succeed. I appreciate that Ken knows the name of each and every child, and does not treat these classes like an assembly line. He takes the time to make sure EVERY child understands whatever they are working on, and does not move on until all the kids are uniform. Thank you Ken. Also, I cannot go on without mentioning Emma. Emma is a great helper, and she is great with the kids. There is no doubt in my mind that the things that my son is learning from these TWO individuals will prove to be INVALUABLE in his life. To say i appreciate you would be a HUGE understatement. THANK YOU KEN AND EMMA!!! More...

My two sons started at Draco Academy this summer and love it! My youngest was hesitant at first, thinking that he would not be able to learn all of the techniques as quickly as his older brother. He has done extremely well however, due to the patience and encouragement from the instructors. They work with him, honing in on the details until he can do the kicks and moves perfectly. His confidence level has soared! I love the excitement and pride I see in his eyes after each class. My older son Brandon is loving the classes as well. He took a martial arts class years ago, but only attended a few times before giving up. At Draco Academy, he feels as though the instructors believe you can do well, so he believes in himself too. He recently said that he is happy we found Draco. My son is a quiet, soft spoken child and I like how the instructors are getting him to speak up and project more confidence. I am looking forward to seeing my sons progress to black belts at Draco! More...

Draco Academy is a wonderful school! My son has taken classes for about 3 years now, and he has enjoyed it immensely. He has not only become a red/black belt at 7, but he has learned to respect others, and to focus on himself. Draco's instructors are wonderful as well, in that they instill working hard at any of their life goals, and they give "Draco dollars" for good grades. Another added perk is that they have visiting "Master" clinics, and if students want to, there are a couple of tournaments a year they can attend. Draco is also not just for kids, my husband takes classes as well. It's been a great stress reliever and major workout for him! There are several week night/ weekend classes to choose from which is nice since he works downtown. More...
