What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
My goal in communicating with clients is to strike a balance between keeping things simple and easy; but to also make sure that I understand exactly what the client is looking for. I am able to work well with clients that have a very specific vision they need help achieving; and I am also able to work well with clients that aren't sure what they want, and leading them in the right direction.
What do you love most about your job?
I love taking photos and capturing the moments. While I enjoy taking staged and posed photos, I really love capturing candid moments most. Capturing eternally frozen moments in time, of people in their true essence--that's what Iove most!
What inspired you to start your own business?
I've always been good with a camera, whether it be for photos or videos. For most of my life, I have compartmentalized my relationship with creating this kind of media as more of a hobby and a thing I do for fun. After many years of bouncing around to many different jobs and not really feeling aligned with the work, I finally convinced myself to take the leap and go full-time with my own photography/videography business. It's definitely one of the best decisions I've ever made! For the first time ever, I am in love with my job.
