I have been going to Chicago Canine Academy for upwards of two years. I have had two dogs go through the bootcamp program. One of my dogs is extremely challenging but they gave us the tools to help him be happy and much easier to live with. I couldn't take my dog out of the yard or have company and now we go to the forest preserve full of dogs and people with no issues. They will teach your dog and teach you but it us up to you to put the training into practice. If you are willing to put in the work this training is a gift to your dog and well worth the investment. Group class is free for the life of the dog and something that many people dont take advantage of like they could. My dogs love going there, and my relationship with my dogs is better because of it. My dog was out of control! I reached out to other trainers before finally coming here, this place changed and literally saved my dogs life. These ARE “dog lovers” they work with your dog, to get the results that are appropriate from your dog . They don’t settle, they make sure your dog is 100% and you get what you paid for. Jim is amazing, passionate, and dedicated to all dogs! all other trainers took my money and wasted my time only to tell me my dog had to be put to sleep(5 other trainers before I finally came here) This was a puppy I myself socialized in the park every single day from pretty much the day he could walk! I was at a loss and I wasn’t going to give up! Some working dogs have more of a WORKING instinct, my dog can care less for treats and what other trainers tried to get him to do. Without a stern attitude and a small correction my dog would have never stopped trying to bite ppls faces off. Im not talking a pit or a retriever, my dog weighs almost twice as much as me! 190 lbs of mastiff and muscle!!! Just depends on your dogs, what’s amazing training for one dog isn’t necessarily the same for another. I have another dog of the same breed who can’t take even my voice being raised in the slightest , yet alone a correction. Two totally different dogs and they require COMPLETELY different approaches. Don't listen to the guy above! If he'd done a little training on his own no one would have to pull and yank his dog around! Jim KNOWS what he's doing and if your have a dog with behavioral then YOU mostlikely DON"T.I took my dog which has dog aggression issues over there and Jim straighten out my dog problem within minutes. He had to get tough with my dog because i haven't been doing it at all...He showed me how to deal with my dog and i saw immiediate improvements! I rather have my dog going trough tough training than having dog with fears and aggression- biting other dogs and people.I reccomend this place to anyone who wants his dog to be happy for life :) More...
