We chose Tom as our wedding photographer, it was such a magical day and Tom managed to capture it perfectly. Tom met with us prior to the wedding day and asked what we would like, we explained that we would like as many natural photos as possible. On the day, Tom made me feel so comfortable. All of our guests commented on how professional Tom was, and how friendly he was with our guests. Once we received our photos back, we could not have been happier or wished for any better. Tom had our photos back (on a drive) within a few days and we shortly after received a personalised USB with all of the photos. The photos are excellent quality, we have chose to have some photos printed as canvas’s and the quality is insane. Our guests loved Tom so much that my mum has booked him for her wedding next year! However she also provides wedding and equine photography too. Beauty wise- not only can she provide wedding hair and/or make up on the day, but herself or one of her skilled colleagues can offer you flawless nails, eyebrows, lashes, or even a relaxing massage in the run up to the wedding day. Rebecca is fully booked within her Helston based salon (Sitting Pretty) and is no longer taking on any new clientele, however she will do one off appointments for bride to be's as their wedding prep if booked well in advance. Booking well ahead with Rebecca is a necessity as she usually keeps her regulars booked up for 6months in advance at a time, and that keeps her very busy! NEW to 2016 - Forever Flora! Rebecca is now also crafting wedding bouquets and accessories in a bespoke, untraditional way. Using either real dried flowers or artificial flowers/berries, and other themed items. I love making brides and their bridal party feel beautiful and confident. Whether it be through getting them ready with their hair and/or make up, or by capturing treasured memories photographically. They all give tremendous job satisfaction!
As the old saying goes 'if you want something doing properly, do it yourself!'. In all honestly I love the freedom and independance of being self employed. It has become a lot more demanding since opening up my own beauty salon and having other professionals working there with me- having more people's appointments to manage than just my own etc. But ultimately I call the shots, I always go the extra mile because it's my name on the line, and I'm doing it because I want to and not because someone else is telling me to. I'm not entirely sure what inspired me, I just always knew I wanted my own business, my own salon, and I'm so pleased with the reputation I've built in doing so.
You only have to have a look through my client feedback to feel reassured that I'm the one to go with (another place to find recent reviews is on my Facebook page). Unlike when I first started, there's so much competition between all sorts of different wedding service providers now. However I still end up being booked for the majority of weekends throughout the year. I used to find it was more of a spring/summer business, but now I'm experiencing high volumes in all seasons and mid week dates as well as weekends- good job I love weddings! I originally traded under the name of RjG Beauty and Photography, and still do but I also go by the salon name of 'Sitting Pretty'. I'm well established and highly experienced... I wish I had kept a tally of all the weddings I've done over the years! I have been told time and time again that I have a calming impact on helping the day run smoothly as it should, and a laid back approach that clients feel comfortable with. I'll admit I may be a bit batty at times perhaps, but that just helps with creating a few giggles!
