Describe your creative process.

My Approach
I follow a 3 step process that keeps you engaged at all times

01
Initial Consultation

I always start our projects off with an in-depth discussion to frame your project objectives and expectations. I will then produce a clear and concise project brief based on this. The design process starts once we are fully aligned on the project brief and you are happy to proceed.

02
Creating Design Concepts

My creative design process keeps you fully engaged at all times. Depending on the brief you can expect a number of design options to be produced. I will provide feedback and advise on which direction to go. Based on your feedback we will then finalise the designs.

03
Delivery Of Artwork

I will work with you or your chosen printers to decide exactly what format the artwork should be delivered in. I save all my work in the cloud to make transfer to you straightforward.

What information do you need from a client before you can start work?

A brief /full spec is always a great starting point. I always ask if there is already a thought process in place of a creative look and feel the client may already have, it's always great to hear any clients ideas. However it's also my job to help guide and navigate clients to a clear path and achieve what they want if they are unsure or simply do not know.

HELPFUL INFORMATION FROM CLIENTS:

(I always assist with answering any questions my clients are not sure about, always happy to help.)

1. A detailed brief explaining nature of job.
2. Is a 4 colour, 2 colour or spot colour job
3. All artwork, eg: images, logos etc to be supplied in high res (300dpi) for print only. ( I always inform clients if images are low res and will not be good enough quality for print, I cannot accept responsibility if client wishes to proceed with the images supplied and print output is not sufficient quality)
4. Deliverables and deadlines, have a date for when a job is signed off and ready for print.
.

What do you love most about your job?

I am a creative....I have been passionate about design probably most of my life. I LOVE bringing ideas to life! Creating something that visually looks amazing and helping people achieve what their goal is an amazing feeling. The thought process behind design is intense, challenging but greatly satisfying, I am proud to have been designing the last 20 years and could never imagine doing anything else.

What inspired you to start your own business?

After a 15 year career in print design I took time out to look after my new born. When my son started school in 2016 I saw an opportunity to work around his schools hours which gave me valuable time to work on a strategy on how to re-engage with my career. Starting point was my website, www.mirellaskdesign.com. I then began introducing myself to the local business community. I met business owners looking for graphic design expertise without the agency price tag. That has been the key! I have since positioned myself as an experienced graphic designer offering high quality work at the fraction of the cost of agency fees and have since completed some amazing projects for local businesses. It has been a challenge, continues to be but also incredibly rewarding and exciting.

Why should our clients choose you?

I take time to hear my clients aspirations and goals and I channel my thought process 100% when I am working.
NO job is too small, from a logo or business card to handling larger jobs that are more high spec eg: brochure/catalogue design or promotions, events, posters/flyer designs.
I keep my clients fully updated and any problems are communicated and effectively dealt with.
I am honest, very hard working and very approachable.
I have 20 years experience of artworking and designing. I've learnt a lot and have come a long way.

Graphic Design FAQs

Expand all

Having fantastic visual design can really change how your audience (or customers) view you. In fact, great graphic design goes way past just making things look good. As well as a strong visual impression, brilliant graphic design enables you to amplify your efforts and get your message across in a way that will make people take notice.

Making the correct first impression is vital. With great design principles, you can create an image of your company that stays in the mind of your audiences. Add to this a consistency across all of your materials, and you will quickly be able to build trust in your brand. As well as communicating with your audience visually, you’ll be able to convey your values. Things like having a well-defined logo can be the first step towards perfect brand recognition.

It is well known that we are very visual creatures. Having the right content, designed in the right way, can really encourage your audience to learn more about your business. Being able to express ideas visually can also help to break down complex content that can be difficult to get across with words alone. This combination of benefits allows you to build a great relationship with your audience over time. This can transform into growth for your brand or increased revenue (depending on your goals).

When it comes to choosing your graphic designer, make sure you are clear as possible about what you expect from them. It’s best to write a detailed brief with background, details and timelines on your project. Giving them the relevant background information will attract the best talent possible for your brief.

Make sure to share details about your company, what you wish to achieve and any qualifications you think are necessary for the role. Explain any deadlines and things they may have to work around to make sure their understanding of the job is as comprehensive as possible.

It can also help if you understand a little bit about design yourself. Without going into too much detail, you can research what skills you would need for a particular job. After getting your head around some fundamental concepts, you can ask your candidate some questions to see how they respond.

This could be about past work they’ve done, or it could be about something you are wishing to create from scratch. This will give you a good idea of how they come up with solutions. You may even assign a trial project to complete – as long as this trial is paid for.

Talking to your potential designer on the phone is also useful. This way you can get a great understanding of how you will communicate together and whether you see eye to eye. Be sure to ask your candidate what they will need from you as well. This will help your project to go smoothly and result in the best possible outcome.

The different kinds of graphic design and their complexity will greatly affect how much you can expect to pay. Graphic designers create a huge array of content – from posters and flyers to websites and logos. Some of these graphics are used for film or TV, while others find placement within ads. Graphic designers mix both skill and creativity, while also being able to communicate with clients in an effective manner.

In a word, yes! Graphic design can be carried out remotely, so as long as you're able to discuss the brief with your expert over the phone or via video chat, then you're good to go.
