I am your friendly, local, flexible Freelance chef. I was trained at Leith's in London where I completed a diploma in Food and wine in 2002. Since then I have run my own award winning restaurant in Cornwall, worked for several small hotels, two high end catering companies and spent six years catering on Yachts in the Caribbean cooking for HNW guests.

Personal Chef Services

Alison catered for my 50th birthday, a private dinner party for 13 people in my own home.
Wow, from enquiring to leaving after the event Alison was professional, helpful, accommodating and a fabulous chef.
From help choosing our menu to clearing up at the end of the evening, Alison provided a first class service.

Q&As

I don't really have one dish - i love cooking fish and seafood and I know a lot of people are worried about cooking fish well.

Firstly i listen to the clients preferences, likes and dislikes. I find out if they like sharing style food or beautifully present plated dishes - ie how formal they would like the food to be. I agree a number of courses and then think about colours, flavours, textures and how we might get a little "wow" on every plate. I like to create balance of all these facets across the menu. Even if they have five courses I like them to leave the table not feeling stuffed but well fed.

I love the creativity the job affords me - a breakaway from normal Monday to Friday cooking!! I am a people pleaser and I mostly love making people happy with great food and friendly service.

I was inspired to start my own business as I get a great deal of personal satisfaction from seeing a great dinner or party right the way through from the menu planning with the customer right through delivery and cleaning up afterwards. Working as part of a team with a larger catering company, I never saw that end to end process.

Clients should choose me because although I (probably) won't be the cheapest, I will, hopefully exceed your expectations as thats what I aim to do and I generally succeed.

I can prepare food at home and deliver - or you can collect - with full instructions on how to heat if necessary rather than me coming to your home to finish off and serve.

I already follow strict health and safety giddiness and operating practises when preparing food but would be happy to wear a mask and keep my distance if serving food at your house.
