Witheys Welding and Steel Fabrication

I have never left a review on any website about a company but felt I had to this time. Very disappointing encounter with this company. They provided the steels for the ground floor of our house - no problem , excellent service, but when it came to providing the steel trusses for our roof, 10 months later, they were appalling. Constantly letting us down on fabrication & installation dates, resulting in a 8 week delay to program, which cost us considerably. In the end, we had to ask them to just deliver our steels as they were. We then had to get another company, R &P Engineering, to come and pick up all the individual bits and recut, weld, fabricate, paint and install our roof steels, at an additional cost to us. All we asked was that Dave could be honest with us and give us a installation date that he could adhere to, but he was always full of empty promises. To add insult to injury, when he sent the remaining invoice to us, he included the price for fabrication & painting, which he had clearly not carried out.
This company maybe very good normally and we may have just been very unfortunate to catch them at a bad time but I certainly would not recommend them to anyone. It has cost us a extra £4.5K to get another steel company to complete the work Witheys should have done and the delays meant we had to extend our scaffolding costs. Not Happy!!!!! More...
