I’m delighted with my Windowskins! The measuring was highly accurate and installation very efficient. Every care was taken to ensure the panels fitted well, despite my having four big bay windows, each containing 10 smaller windows, which was quite a challenge. Some slippage occurred with the panels on the larger opening windows after a very windy night, and Windowskins came back to adjust the magnetic strength and add pins to make sure they were secured. All part of the service!Now they are hardly noticeable when you first enter the room, and from the outside not at all. The panels are easy to take down and put back up, quickly snapping closed to form a tight seal thanks to the magnetic strips.The reduction in noise from the road outside has been quite dramatic, and draughts through the opening windows eliminated. I’ve already turned down the heating in the master bedroom, and the other rooms where the heating is off have a more ambient temperature. The panels feel room temperature to the touch, whereas the previous single-glazed windows felt cold, giving more for the heating to fight against. Having replaced all the windows at the rear of our property with new double glazing but not wanting to do the same with the front ones as they were the original (1908) leaded type, we had searched for options to both effectively combat condensation that was starting to damage the wooden frames, and also provide a level of protection from the considerable cold draughts. Thankfully, we stumbled across Adam and his team from a random search on the internet. After a survey and some recommendations we opted to place an order for 2 bay windows, 3 or 4 smaller ones and for a very large stained glass staircase window, which was particularly draughty. The price was very reasonable although at this point we were unsure what the results would be other than reading other testimonials. The lead time for delivery was better than expected and the installation was very non disruptive. The team were all very friendly and conscious of clearing up after themselves. We are very impressed with the solution! We have turned down the thermostat by a couple of degrees, even though the recent temperatures have dropped (it’s January), the condensation which was awful has completely disappeared. Another pleasant and unexpected bonus was the sound proofing effect the windowskins have produced. Street and traffic noise has been reduced considerably. If you are considering Windowskins to cure any of the issues we were experiencing, then go ahead and invest. It will be money well spent and like us, we’re certain you will be delighted with the results. I am really, really pleased with both the service from WindowSkins, and the performance of the skins themselves. They have significantly reduced the noise levels in our flat, and the improvement in warmth has been considerable. Actually I feel like I can’t praise them enough – they are great! And I’m so amazed by how inconspicuous they are; you really can’t see them once they’re on at all. The price is extremely reasonable too - we had a quote for secondary glazing that was three times the cost. I would definitely recommend WindowSkins to anyone - I was really impressed with their professionalism and how easy it was to have them fitted. I have recently had a lot of work done to my flat, and they were the best by far in terms of lack of disruption, cleaning up afterwards, and just generally being nice guys. We have lovely original 1920's leaded stained glass windows on the front of our house. However, they are terribly draughty and non energy efficient especially in the cold winter. We had these "window skins" fitted to achieve double glazing without ruining the original look. They are able to mold them so they fit over the protruding handles we have unlike many other companies.They have made our house so much warmer and I can' recommend this great concept and company enough.
